Input on Color Choices? :) ... No 56k

So, with the timing belt done and new rotors and pads going on this week, I got to think its time to give my CL a little facelift to set it off a bet. I'm not in a position to buy new springs (yet!) but was wondering what people thought of the blacked out look? [Ignore column 2, that was for fun.] Posted the color samples as a single image, so it might take a second to load:

it would be really hard to paint the chrome trim and probably not turn out good. you can try using Trimbrite T9005 blackout tape and apply it with a heat gun. I wanna do this just not sure if it will turn out good enough for my picky tastes.

I like it dark all the way, tails I say for sure, IMO I like black/dark rims and I think the dark trim fits well with the theme

also for those neon green wheels, there is a vw jetta around here, with a set of wheels colored that way , but the car is red though; he also has his race number on the front doors also , so he must be damn fast too

Thanks for the feedback everyone. If I trust my prep work I may decide to paint those wheels soon.

Yes, having it look good is my fear. One wrinkle and I'm ripping it all off. I saw a black Mercedes that used vinyl and it looked really good though. I wasn't even aware trimbrite made tape, thanks for the headsup.

In fooling around in Photoshop it actually surprised me it didn't look half bad!

I'm leaning towards the wheels and tails right now, the trim will just be a trial maybe, definitely nothing I can't bring back to stock.

I have to double check, I believe 15% on the backs and rear (with vinyl strip on the inside over the crappy "dots") and 20 or 25 on the sides.
(I should point out I probably had my sunshade in the windshield blocking that when the picture was taken tho I haven't decided to tint the windshield just yet.

haha if the number makes it faster I wonder if I get my neighbor to cut me some vinyl stripes what I could expect for HP gains!?

Yeah I wanna see about maybe getting my front windshield tinted too. Most states don't allow the front to be tinted, but I want to see about getting that clear crystalline stuff. Even if it's no tint, just clear film, it's still supposed to filter a ton of heat.

My tint guy has his ranger's front windshield done withe the lightest stuff. Makes a big difference and can't even tell its done unless you know you are looking at it. What a difference. Down here in the heat I may take my chances in the interest of keeping out heat and keeping my dash nice.

Undecided still on trim, it would only be a temporary (ie- removable) trial if I do that.

I would personally take the time and paint the trim either body color or black tape. It can be done where it will last.

Shouldve done white. Having the graphite wheels makes the chrome around the windows stand out too much. If you went with white or silver wheels, it would tone it down some.

Thanks for all the feedback. Nice to have a forum where everyone can come together with a common goal, even if all our tastes differ!

That will be next on my list. I'm going to go the tape route first to see how it sits since it is reversible. If I like it, my next step would me transparent metal paint to give the chrome a "smoked"/charcoal look if I get inspired! Thanks for the feedback.
