Indiana State police still using X-band radar!!!
Coming home from the mall this afternoon, and the V1 starts barking with a little X-band. I didn't think much of it until it gradually began to increase with "1" still showing on the bogey counter. About 1 mile down the road a copper was sitting in the median, gunning people coming through the construction zone.
I know the state troopers here have Ka-band radars as well, but this is the FIRST time I've ever encountered any type of law enforcement person using X-band anywhere. They must be short on radar guns.

WOAH! I almost went and disabled X-Band on my 8500! Thanks for the heads up.
I have yet to run into an X-band radar here in the south.

Don't panic. You gotta be absolutely sure there is not X-band in the area...I drove around for 1 year with X-band ON just to be sure. But I know just as soon as I leave the Metro area, X-band has gotta be turned back on because it is definitely still around all over. Just waiting for the Gvt to close off that band to LEO.
That's too bad you still have some X-band around in your day to day driving. Because with X-band off, the V1 is doubly-sweet!

PA still used X-Band too.
I don’t really mind though because most of the cops leave the damn thing on all the time and they’re easy to pick up from several miles away.
Unfortunately they also have TONS of those decoy RADAR generators on every damn road construction sign.
You never know if it’s real or not until you slow down and pass one.
But I guess that’s why they do that, to get detector users to slow down.
