Imobilizer Question
#2
Nevermind guys, just got my answer I was looking for. The imobilizer on the CLS ECU is intergrated and cant be bypassed. I just need to get an imobilizer off a newer accord and have them do whatever it is they do to match the key off the accord to the CLS ECU and what not. I guess this is going to be the costly way of going about this (aside from going stand alone).
Thanks anyways guys...

so, do we now have a definite date on the release of the 3.5L 1G CL?
i saw you at the last meet in Long Beach, but didn't get to meet you. hopefully i see you and your CL at the next one.

i think a full standalone would have been better for you in the long run. the shop that did my 3.5 did a 3.2 type S motor in a 1G CL. he said they went standalone and it was a pain in the ass to wire. but you appear to be have just as much, if not more troubles.
good luck with your project. done right you will have the biggest grin on your face.

what i know is that, they need to bring that key to Acura dealer to match it to the ECU so that the engine will turn over... actually the whole car on what i heard, needs to be there for matching.
BTW off topic. 6speed owners, does the clutch need to be press down before you can start the car? mine doesn't need to, that's why i ask...

no pics, it was an auto. he said there were a ton of problems and it was a nightmare. but they did it.
you don't need your car there. just the VIN. but i'm not sure if their going to believe you if you walk in with a written down VIN.
i think you are going to have more problems than just the key to turn the motor over. but i hope you prove me wrong.

kris that just did his 6 speed swap on his 2000 tl had his matched. I believe he took the key and cl-s ecu to the acura dealer and they programmed it. From there the car fired right up.
