I'm getting a new tranny....

in my wife's Integra.

Funny story. My wife has a 93 Integra 5-speed with 120,000+ miles. Took the car back in April to have the CV boots replaced. At that time, they replaced the front axles. Pretty typical.

Well months went by and in about July she started complaining that the car shuddered when turning to the right. Felt like driving over rumble strips. Well we had to get an exhaust put on last month. When they finished, the guy pulled me into the bay and showed me how loose the right axle was.

Took the car back to Firestone where they did the CV boots, and they said it was her tranny.

OK, took it to a tranny shop and long story short, Firestone put in the wrong axle on the right side.

So now my wife car is getting her tranny rebuilt for FREE.

The bill would have been over $1000 had the tranny shop not caught the fact that Firestone put the wrong damn axle in the car.

Those old Integra’s are great cars.
They’re built better then the CL in some ways.
My wife’s 91 5-Speed just crossed 90K and is going strong.

I suggested getting something newer a few times and she’ll hear nothing of it.

Yup, I had a 91 Integra 5-speed that had 170,000 miles on it when I donated it. Wish I still had it.

Japanese assembly is what does it. I bet the TL and CL would have less problems if they were assembled in Japan.

True, but unfortunately they would cost 40,000+ like the Legend Coupe did back in its prime.
To build a car with the same quality of a 95 Legend Coupe and all the toys we have now would probably cost 50,000 or MORE.
