I'm back, with a few more questions...

Hey all, I dropped in this discussion group about a month or so ago, thinking I was going to buy my CLS right away. Now it looks like I'll be holding off until about July or August, which gives me enough time to ask a few more questions.

Right now, my biggest concerns are the minor defects that everyone is complaining about. Things like the paint quality and the cracking/peeling/wrinkling in the leather. So here are my questions:

1. Is everyone experiencing these problems? (the leather problem and the paint chips)

2. Would you consider these problems to be serious, or are you just obsessing over very small issues?

3. Are there any other problems you've had with your CLP or CLS that you would consider major?

I don't mean to offend anyone with question #2, I just really want to know if these are serious quality issues, or if everyone just expected a $30,000 car to be absolutely perfect. If I'm going to have to get my car re-upholstered and painted every 2-3 years, I might just have to consider some more options...

Thanks a bunch...

The minor problems we have are the same as most other cars. I don't sweat the small stuff... Buy the car if you like it... I think it's the best value in the class.

CL's are really good cars and even though I drive a TL I can sorta relate. Probs peeps having is just typical wear and tear stuff. If you take care of your car properly then you wont run into any of these probs. I wish I would have gotten the CL but then again theres mores stuff outhere for the TL such as kits and..............stuff.

No major problems here. I think folks on this BB are pretty anal.
Minor gripes all fixed at 1st service (squeeky sunroof, bad wipers, sticky gas door).
Paint and leather are fine.
