Just wondering if the polyurethane construction of the Iceman CAI would offer any advantages over CAIs made from metals? EricL....any thoughts?

Agreed. Plastic has thermal insulative qualities while metal, especially aluminum, has conductive qualities. The aluminum will transfer more heat into the filter box.

You do understand that the temperature effects are negligible due to the fact that the air is sucked in at such a velocity that it has no time to truly absorb any excessive heat...I think it helps only if the car has been running for awhile and then you run it from a dead stop...after that, the above point comes into play.

On the GS-R the AEM was tested better then the Iceman, keep that in mind. I think it had to more with how the iceman's opening was bigger, and became smaller closer to the TB. The AEM had one size.
