heres the deal

me and a f150 lightning approaching a light, he was behind me approaching the red light, i get to the light stop and as hes rolling in at around 10 mph the light goes green and he gets a huge jump on me , i nail it and just start lightin up crazy by the time i had traction into 2nd gear he had a couple bus lenghts on me, i caught up to him to ive him props, i wanted to go from a 80 roll and he wouldnt bite, i think i can be right on his ass if we woulda lined up again, i;m sure i';ll run into him again

The only way a Lightning will hit 12's is if it has a decent amount of mods. The current gen are high 13's/low 14's bone stock, and will run 12's with a couple mods and better tires.

you said there is no way a CL-S can come close to a lightning. I beg to differ. a considerably modded CL-S *IE one of all_motors rigs*would give a lightning a run for its money.

you make it seem like a CL-S can never ever ever in its lifetime be a contender against a lightning.

Good god you are a negative individual.

i didnt know what they ran, they are def not out of my leagoe when they are stock, if i get a better r/t it would probably be untul 3rd gear until he realed me in, me and him were both leaving from my neighboorhood so i'll run into him again someday

the only time you'll see a stock lightning above 14.00 if he can't launch the thing and that will be at the track only.
when my truck was stock it was very hard to spin the tires it grab on the street.

with 1500 miles on the clock. Stock Eagle F1's and all, she went 13.48 @ 102.

these trucks are sick and for $600 (chip and a #4pulley) you'll run
12.9 all day.

the only cl's that will give a stock lightning a run for its money will be a supercharge one.

0-60 in 5 seconds even with your mods you'll be watching the taillights all the way done the street.
before i sold my Cl (had all the the bolt ons except suprcharg)my wife would still wax me.

sorry but the truck is out of our league.

i was able to keep up with a lightning in the gs, but that was the older model. it was s/ced but had about 75 horses less than the 02 and up.
the new ones should be crazy. as for them being in 12's, i dont know about that. a cobra has a hard time getting into 12's.

You're joking, right? Trust me, the lightnings can easily get in the 12's... That's a cast iron 5.4L with an Eaton blower... smaller pulley, and a chip will put that bad boy easily in the 12's. Bone stock that lightning will eat up a CL. Especially from a dig... it will be straight up murder. And a cobra? Umm... not even all_motor's would run well against one.

p.s. -- Edit, I meant joking about a cobra having a hard time getting into the 12's. =)

lightning gets neutralized

i dont think i noticed the clear tail lights but to be honest i dont remember if i even looked...it was new though 2000+, i had been out in front of traffic trying to get this G35 coupe to bite when i had given up, but just then notice what i thought was a lightning make his way to the front...he's looking like he wants to be out in front of traffic, but not nessicarily race,...i give him a couple blips anyway ,then low and behold the light ahead goes yellow...this is a good spot. anyone that knows the area, 19N at fivay going towards springhill...very open...well we roll out and get into it about half way through first .i get a car maybe car and a half....i see in my rear view little puffs of smoke as his auto shifts....oh i might mention, that S/C whine just as we were getting into it in first is nice, makes me want the blower they have out for my car... anyway we took it deep...i mean deep...well not juiceSS deep but 135+ maybe strectched it out to 2 cars maybe ....as we coast he gets beside seemingly pumped up, kind rocking in his seat .i give the thumbs up,he the enthusiastic knod, and i turn and head back home....good stuff

don't doubt it...

Again, the lightning is like pushing a brick over 100mph.... probably a civic would beat it out over 100... hahaha. Try the truck from a dig? Different story I'm sure. =)

BTW my 0-60 calc says that my car with a 2.063 60' and a 13.7 @101.54 1/4 adds upto 5.3 0-60 still out of our league ...

good run type R
the problem with these trucks is that the stock times really vary depending on drivers, most trucks seem to be in the 13.8-14.1 area so you would give one a good race and sometime beat them.

there's a gold 01 up here that has the 3.5 conversion and the best time at the track was a 13.8 in lightning land

that day there were 4 other lightnings
the best was 13.48 and the worst was 14.6
