I swapped my knob over to a monsterknobs one...it's a spun resin so it doesn't get hot in summer or cold in winter, which I love. Wish it was weighted though!
I never understood why they dont use a steel ball in the center and cover it with resin. Best of both worlds IMO.

You can just barely see it in that pic. It may be black when you buy it, but the moment you touch it with a wrench it gets scuffed. Maybe brass wrenches wouldnt scuff it if you really care about the way it looks - I didnt.
Love the set-up, what part number is this/price? Does it get icy in the winter?

I honestly can't get enough of this shift knob...tall enough for that extra leverage for no missed shifts, weights a pound and looks cool. Does get hot/cold...but doesn't retain it.
Mishimoto weighted shift knob:

Anyone have some other suggestions for aftermarket knobs and what is the deal with short shifters? Is it still the one guy making them who copies the spec shifter.

This is the one I bought and I'm very happy with it. You don't have the hot/cold issues with it because of the leather and it looks very nice, more luxurious looking than the all metal ones which I'm not a fan of. That's the deal, it's all about your taste.

I dont remember the part number on the knob, but it was around $100, maybe more.

It gets frigid in the winter and will burn you in the summer.
