I know I know, but Where is any new Acura Coupe?

I know it's been discussed ad nauseum, but is there any updated news on a Coupe? The 06 Acuras are out, and I looked at the Honda site at the 'refreshed' 06 Accord Coupe- V6, Navi, w/destination is over $30,000 +tax!

Does this mean, no new Acura coupe or any new Acura coupe will be $40,000? Does Honda hope the Accord coupe will suffice for coupe buyers? Hondas cost a lot now.

Not cool. We need a replacment. But if we don't get a replacement, does that mean that ours will be considered collectors cars?

The best coupe ever was 2 door Legend... They need to bring THAT back or something on the same platform... The CL was great, but was not really on the same level as the 2-door legend...

Don't knoiw about you guys, but i drove the new TL and my CL is way more comfortable and roomy. Visibility is alot better too. I would be interested in a 6 speed 2003 than a new TL. I would hope to God they bring the car back mwith an interior similar to the CL's, seats and all ,rather than a 2 door TL or something.

HA! Collectors cars? You're kiddkng right? Most auto dealers around here don't even want 'em 'cause they are soft in price unless it's a 6spd. Not to mention most people don't even know what a CL is. People ask me, "what do you drive?" I say, "an Acura CL", they say (with this stupid look on their face ) "what's that?". Our cars are soft in price because Acura stopped making the car and didn't replace it. Everyone in the car business knows that when an automaker drops a model, that model's resale plumits. It's a mystery to many but i have my theorys which I won't even get into..... Sorry, I couldn't help myself.... $.02

300ZX's are considered collector's cars. They're no longer made. Some Legends are considered collector's cars, they're no longer made.... So I just thought that we'd get the cool honor of some day being thought of as a collector's car.

I've been a devoted Honda coupe buyer-
03 CLS 6MT, anthracite
03 CLS 6MT, white
95 Legend Coupe 5AT
88 Legend Coupe 5MT
83 Honda Prelude 5AT

With the sportier styling of the 04 TL, I was surprised they didn't bring a coupe out with it, but maybe that's why they made the TL so much sportier, to satisfy coupe and sedan buyers in one car.

I don't want to wait til 08 for an Acura coupe choice. Lexus (IS350 coupe), Infiniti (new? G35 coupe), or BMW (new 3 coupe) should be out well before Acura comes around with anything. Why is Acura quitting the lux-coupe segment for such long stretches? They were so proud (deservedly so) when they premiered the Legend Coupe. What happened? As far as the Legend Coupe, I loved both of mine, and as great as the CLS is, I consider it only a Legend substitute, not a replacement.
If they are saying, hey? you want a premium coupe, we got it, the NSX. I only wish!

123456SPEED, you might want to add the 2006 Mercedes SLK 350 to your list.

It is a sweet looking car and priced in the mid to upper $40k range.

Check it out, the only problem is it comes with a 7 speed automatic, but I do not believe it has a manual transmission option.

The little MB coupe? 'chick' car and too small, prefer 4 seats. CLK or SL, yes!

I think the whole resale thing has to deal with your location. I went to the local acura dealer last week to test drive a tsx. The sales guy asked me if i would trade my CL. He said he has a list of people waiting for a CL. He said i would be surprised at the trade in he could give me. It was close to closing time so we never really sat down and looked at figures. My CL is just an 03' premium. He said at the acura dealer he use to work at in another state that he only sold 2 CL's.

If you want a collectors Acura, I say find yourself a very rare Legend Coupe 6spd. I think they made very few of them in the last year of production. Aparently, considering their age, they go for high dollars if it's in prestine condition.

I traded in my 95 Legend Coupe (5AT) for $9500 to an Acura dealer in 03. They resold it in a day. I always wanted a 6MT G2 Legend coupe but could never find one with low miles. The CLS 6MT is why I let go of my automatic Legend, I wanted a shifter. I look at Legends on ebay and they are all high miles, but they are still eye-catchers when you see one.

I’ve been with Acura since 1991.
No new luxury coupe and nothing else exciting in the lineup.

Goodbye Acura you lost a longtime customer.

The NSX is done... Buy a 2005 while you can... A replacement for the NSX is in the future, but who knows how long that will be. No 2006 model planned...

Acura will not have a coupe in it's 2006 lineup. (the rsx is a hatchback IMHO).

http://vtec.net/modelmatrix/

This is my first H/A vehicle, and it probably won't be the last, but I'm looking at RWD for my next car. I'm waiting to see what comes out for the 2007 MY... A Mustang, redesigned G35c, Toyota Supra (if they make it) and a Bmw (if a M2 is sold in the states) are on my radar.

Let's see if Acura comes out with a coupe to compete with some of the other vehicles that are going to be out in the next couple of years.

I'm with Shawn on this one--I've been a Honda/Acura customer since 1986 and have owned 7 Hondas and 2 Acuras in that time. I'm gone when this car dies unless Acura kicks it up 20 notches and starts building a car that does not look like it's made for my grampa; has AWD and more than 6 cylinders. As nice as the RL is it doesn't pass two of those three prerequisites and until it does, it won't be in my garage.

Not even the Accord coupe sells well. Why would they bring in an Acura version that costs more? They discountinued the CL for a reason.
There's only a few Accord Coups at any dealer in my area, & they are not the V6 versions, or sticks. Acura is making a ton of $$ on the new TL. Well the auto versions. There's only 3 6 speed TL's in FL as of last week. I had a dealer look it up before I got the CLS 6MT. There are tons of auto TL's on the lots though. In my area all I see are new TL's driving around.
Honda/Acura has a coupe & it's the Accord.

That's where my CL-S tranny was made! The only recurring problem that the CL has. The rest of the car was made and manufactured in THE USA.

90 Prelude Si
86 Civic DX hatchback
87 Accord LX coupe
90 Legend LS
03 CL Type S

In between ... Corolla SR5 and Audi Quattro Coupe

Looking fowards to a hard top rear wheel drive Acura coupe in the future.

But if you want to speak rarity in the CL category... 7200 6 speeds were made.
God knows how many of them are still alive on the roads.

A member analyzed the VIN numbers and production runs, looked pretty impressive.
Do a search for 'production numbers'.
My 6MT is one of 137, I think. (w/Navi, anthracite).
3511 total 6MT CLS made, 820 had Navi option.

The market for a coupe is small. The G35 has captured most of it. Word is a convertible named the CL may appear, but that is a while away, if at all.

If you look for a nice coupe that is not simply a sports car between $30,000 and $40,000 you will find few.
