I hate my fog lights Im thinking about..

I really hate how weak our fog lights are.... Im thinking on getting them unplug or putting some new foglights....I already swap the bulb to a whiter one... but it still very weak....I went to the shop here in Charlotte that is called Speed Styles and I told them about it... and they offer me this expencive fog lights... that were like $300 to $1200....Does anybody here have some pics of their CL with different kind of foglights or a pic of their car with out the fog lights....

HellaWhat has the PIAA 1700's on his car. He took the stock "drving lamps" out and replaced them. I have been thinking about doing the same thing. I have been looking at the PIAA 1700's as well as the 1900's. Max they cost $200. TypeSDragoon has some different fogs too. His is the first black car. HellaWhat has the black car in the bottom two pics.

I have all but given up on after market fogs. I've had two pairs of Catz stolen from me when I use to own the Integra. I swore after the second pair was ripped off my bumper, I would NEVER buy another set.

I too am very unsatisfied with the stock fogs. I know people switch bulbs all the time, but is there any other way to increase the brightness/effectiveness.

People have mentioned that switching to a higher wattage bulb runs the risk of melting the housing. Is there anything else that can be done?

Here's with Pilot fog-housing and regular 55watt bulbs. Pics were taken before PIAA bulbs arrived.

Raleigh,
You have any info, advice, warnings on this mod? I have PIAA 1200s I want to install. I saw pictures from nilesh21 here:

http://photos.yahoo.com/ncp6431

He did not give much info on the install. Did you tape or screw your fogs in place? Was a custom bracket or anyting needed? I hate to take my car apart - only to need more junk from the Home Depot to finish. thanks

I customed made an L-bracket to mount the fog housing. The L-braket is bolted to a hole already made on the chasis (if I remember, under the headlights.) But the bracket u make will depend on how your fogs bolts on. I believe most ppl are bolt/taping to the plastic bumper (this causes the fogs to vibrate while driving).

I plan to change the way it's mounted, cause it's too far inside the bumper. I'm gonna move it forward some more by MODing a new bracket.

allright, here are more pics of my fogs (note it's raining hella HARD right now )

they are called Rally Lights. and i bought them for $20 bux at walmart but they are really cool light, and give off a very yellow glow at night.

but if you buy the same pair as mine, make sure you get the ones with the yellow bulbs NOT the white (unless you actually want bright white lights)

and in case you ask, the blue fog light bulbs i got off ebay for $15 bux. they are HID 9005 Hyper Industries, Super Plazma Xenon Bulb. the actual bulb glass is very blue, and makes the high beam assembly turn blue from the reflection

*edit*
i just noticed that my mom put my license plate back on. GRRRRRRRR i'm very pissed right now

i don't like them, (to each his own though) - i also don't like the blue look on the roadlamps when you put in piaa 18watt super whites, people always ask me if i have blue bulbs in all the lights, most of the cars with xenon have yellow driving lamps, so if you are just looking for a brighter lamp, put in brighter bulbs and remove the blue coating - the headlamps are bright enough for me
