Well I got to thinking that maybe the pipe wasnt making the noise, but that the filter wasnt doing an adequate job of noise reduction. So today I went to a shop and bought a different filter. The weapon-r intake comes with a filter that is a foam element. Really free flowing, really loud at idle. The new filter is a k&n cone. It fit perfectly, and has a better sound than the foam one at full throttle (a little deeper). And most of the humming is gone, not all of it, but significantly better than the foam filter. Plus I think it looks a little better. I took some new pics.

thanks for the update and the pics... well appreciated! and glad you took care of your humming problem.

the k&n is what xephyr is shipping with his CAI that he has developed, so hopefully those of us that ordered his won't have any humming noise
