yes, the 330 is a great car....too bad he can't beat you!
are you stock? if so, you must have a strong car. do you guys always launch from a stand still or have you tried it from a roll?

cool story! can you give me some details on how the launch goes down between you two? a guy on the board (Both) own the CLS and the 330 and he says the 330 is hard to launch. Is the launch a major part of his problem?

well 'Both' raced from a 5 mph punch and he said the 330 would edge the CLS out. It takes the launch out of the equation so make sure you call it and get a small jump It doesn't have to be 10mph just make sure you're near the vtec engagement point or even at ~3800 rpms when the secondary plenum opens! heck try it at 10, 20, 30 mph. I think the CLS has better midrange acceleration so a 55-60mph punch would be interesting as well.

ok here's the deal we just got back from lunch and we raced rolling from 10 mph and then on the highway from a roll he got the jump on me but i caught up in 2 and 3rd gear and beat him, then on the highway we were going way to fast 130+ we punched it from 60 and i beat him again he could'nt catch up so i shut it down,i am finished racinghim i am wasting gas and my lunch time.

Not withstanding the fact that you're an idiot to race at 130 on a freeway, your friend (no offense) sounds like he can't tell the gas from the brake. A properly-driven 330ci will eat a stock CL-S all the time, every time.

Classy, I like the 330, it's real nice. I won't comment on who's faster until I race one (have you raced one yet?)
Why didn't you get the other rims or is that the only sport package ones available? My friend's 2000 328Ci w/sport package has the double spoke rims with the lip which I think looks very cool. I'm partial to rims with lips, which is why I hate my own rims and am getting new ones eventually.

I haven't raced anyone on the street, and I don't plan to. I'm in my first autocross next week, and I'll let you know how I do. I'm not predicting anything big, because I'm a fairly poor driver. But I do have a fast car

Oh, I would, but buffy's at a polo match, and Reginald is off touring the Berkshires, and Suzy's grounded for dating some guy who drove an Accord coupe. Oops, I meant Acura CL, of course.
