Question HP difference in just Manifold???

I was saving up to get 09 manifold ($400) an Blox 76mm ($250) TB total $650

Mods i have not yet install are PnP lower runner with mill down 1" MDX spacer all port match an 3.5" custom intake.

Well here the deal i find Blox 74mm TB locally very cheap an NIB. I'm thinking about getting it an just port match it to my type-s stock manifold an call it day. ( Saving about $400-500 )

What i was wondering is how much difference in HP/torque would this be compare to 09 manifold with 74/76mm Blox TB? Any input would be GooD

the 09 manifold gained ~3-4 hp over a type s ported manifold with P2R plenums. The 09 manifold is the way to go, not to mention its about half the weight and made out of magnesium alloy so it doesn't get as got.

I have a 3.0 Accord, but I gained 15whp with the 3.7 IM/TB/ported runners. I initially had my stock manifold ported by P2R, and still gained 15whp. [Not sure if having a ported manifold and stock runners had any impact on this. The lower ports on the manifold could have been larger than the stock runners and therefore, creating turbulence at that point. I'm not sure. Frankly, I don't care much at this point because I gained 15whp lulz, but I'm just saying]. The stock TB is a huge bottleneck, and the IM neck is much larger on the 3.7 as opposed to even my ported manifold (68mm). Not only that, but as Stephen said, it's Magnesium so it's lighter and doesn't get as hot. You won't regret going to the 3.7 manifold.

If the 74mm is a good amount cheaper than the 76, do it. I measured the 3.7 IM neck to be ~76mm. You will probably be down a couple ponies, but it won't be all that drastic.

Yeah i know 74mm to 76mm ain't that much a big deal. Just hoping it's still be available for pickup this weekend for low $150

So with both setup you gain 15HP? if this is so, why did you change your setup ( for looks )

I have always wanted to throw the 09 manifold on my car 03 cl-s but im supercharged and it would require some customization. Not only that but with the bigger manifold it would be pullin in more air and would throw off the a/f ratio's and i would be required to have to tune the car. All of that requires even more $. Not sure i want to go that route but we can all dream can't we

Actually while it may not seem like much i think 2mm is quite a bit Especially if one has I/H/E. Just the gains seen from porting the lower runners and polishing them is quite big. The more air these motors can get the better. I opened up my lower runners 2mm, heads equally as much and plan on running 2 type-s throttle bodies.

You're running a S/C untuned? Come on man...that's silly.

^ He's right. 2mm is a good amount, but that's up to you if you want to spend the extra money. You will probably be down a few HP from 4K to redline. But 74mm isn't a bad option.

I wish there was a way for a DBW guy like me to utilize a TB that had a 76mm outlet to match the 3.7 IM...

What would 2 TBs do for you? I'm interested in learning more.

Instead of having 69mm of air coming in he will have 138mm of air coming in. They are side by side

Thanks for clarifying! I was thinking they were linear for some reason.
