I guarantee I could find you a CL-S for 6-7K miles on it and in decent condition. It might have high mileage, but I know I could find one for you.

 

Thats to show you how a dealer would value the car differently just cause it says "salvage" on the title. They will see how nice it is then give you a resonable quote. Then when you lay the salvage on them, they will give you a lowball price probably 40-50% less than they JUST gave you.

 

My 03 6spd w/ 55K miles is probably only worth 15K, but maybe I should list it on autotrader/craigslist for 20K and see if I can find some idiot to buy it...

Obviously there are people buying cars out there that don't do carfaxes or check online price guides like kbb, edmunds or nada...

I know the YAY area is expensive but, where do you people live? I just did a quick search on www.cars.com for a 2001 CL in a 50 mile radius of my zip and found 13 for 14k or more. 5 with 80k miles or more.

 

You're probably seeing dealer cars and you are seeing retail rates. There is a big price difference between Retail prices from dealers and Private party prices from an individual.

 

I know that's what I'm seeing but, then I go over to craigslist and see 6 for 14k or more. I agree my asking price is high but, it's not impossible.

 

exactly its your car its your price it sounds right people said i can get mines around 6-7k i sold my car for 10300 cash in 2 days...with no questions ask i stay in da bay so cars get sold left and right...by the way i had alot of other offers too so i mean just put up a price and see how it goes...

 

Asking prices in ads are different then selling prices... the used car market is glutted right now, it's a buyers market and no one pays retail asking prices... Knock at least 2K off any price you see advertized by a dealer

If your not in a hurry to sell and others are obviously getting theirs sold for the same price or close to the same is what your asking, why knock anything off?

Update for the tranny fix: i got the oil jet kit installed on my salvage CL for free from a dealer. i got approval from acura. they inspected it but i couldnt get proof. i have to go back in 2 weeks for proof. they said it looked ok and just put the jet kit in. so should i keep it not or sell it? i really want to keep it for a long time (obvisouly since i bought it salvage) but im am still unsure about the tranny. if i could have gotten a new tranny then i would keep for sure since i know the new ones are now better. still having hard shift from 2-3 and slip? or slow shift from 3-4. oil kit did not cure symptoms, so still gonna fight for a new tranny...

so tranny ok now? should i keep or sale? if sale, what price? got any starting price ideas? i got the following mods on my car in my sig...

Um, thats alot of chrome on one set of wheels.... Is that actually legal, they outlawed old chrome bumpers on old trucks because it would distract drivers. Those rims would cause a solar reflection and blind any drivers that you passed.

Has nothin to do with the import scene, it has more to do with the drug dealer scene. You're right, everyone has their opinion, but you can't call chrome rims of those size and with that much chrome, LUXURY. Perhaps on a 70' Impala you could pull off those rims on, but those aren't luxury rims, those are gangster rims. Nice new car though, love the lexus.

As for selling your vehicle, test the waters, see whats available. You are going to pay for it one way or another. If you try selling your car without the new tranny, people are less likely to pay as much. If you keepy it, the likelyhood of your tranny blowing up is higher and then you have to pay for it out of your own pocket. Its a sellers call.

yeah its because i gotta do alotta work but to thinka about it im winning because i just sold my wheels for 650 because they were too heavy so its like i got it for 8000...with smogged and tagged...compare these 2 cars i think the cl is faster on the strreets but gs takes off on the freeway....heheh i miss my cl but love my gs
