Happy CL-S Pilot
feeling for you...I estimate that I paid some $38k for my CLS inlcuding mods... now I am at 43800 milles in some 31 months.... I would be luck if I can get some $22k in a private sale... That is a depreciation of $500/month!

I recently sold my 2001 CL-S (non-navi) with 29,000 miles for $22,500. The only "mods" were chips in the paint from rocks/doors. I wouldn't say resale totally sucks. I paid $29,500 for my car in 2000 and sold it 2.5 years later and only lost $7000 in value.
You also need to realize that current invoice price on a CL-S w/ navi is $30,639. Non-navi is $28,659. New buyers aren't paying near the price we paid back when the car first came out and dealers tried to tack on a lame "vehicle availability surcharge" on top of MSRP.
Mods? Everyone says to sell them separately. Navigation also means squat towards resale value. The $2000 OEM option gives you a few hundred more in resale according to KBB.
