How many miles before clutch change?

100k? 150k? What's 'normal' assuming you know how to drive a MT.

I dunno, I'm at 81k, with a decent amount of abuse, and its still holding strong.

It's going to vary by a large margin. Depends on how you drive, mods, no mods, abuse, misuse, acts of god etc.

I'd say a normal range for any clutch is 100K miles.

I downshift to slow instead of braking, so I'd assume mine would wear out quicker...

It's not going to be as long as a 4 cylinder Civic or Accord due the increased HP and Torque...

My WAG (wild ass guess) would be 100-150...

I think Sly had his done at 150K miles: https://acurazine.com/forums/member-cars-sale-49/fs-2003-acura-cl-type-s-6-speed-w-nav-1-15-%2410-000-obo-phillips-ranch-calif-385188/

But he did alot of highway miles...

I'm at 109k and was thinking of changing it when I do a bunch of maintenance such as timing belt etc. I figured if I changed it before I damaged the flywheel I could save the $400 it costs to replace that too. Knock on wood, but mine has held up well.

Why would you need the trans rebuilt at that mileage? Unless there was a problem that seems like wasted $.

Like already mentioned, it really depends on your driving habbits. My previous car, 92 Integra, i drove it to 320'000km and i had yet to change the clutch, tho i bought it used but the km was only at 98'000km... so i doubt it was done at the time. Either way i drove 220'000km on it or a grand total of 320'000km. WIth my current 03 CL im hitting the 175'000km mark and i have no signs of it wearing down. Maybe its not as tight as it use to be, but performance is still the same. I probably need to just have the cables tightened abit.

When you feel it slip. As to what mileage to expect that, that's unknown due to many factors.

Like others have said, varies by how you drive, and your skill at changing gears.

I performed my first clutch replacement at 150K
