'01 CL bought April '01.
Tranny at 28k. While there, they fixed the warped rotors and the sunroof squeak.

Now at 52k with no further problems.

2001 CL-S purchased 07/00.

47K miles on it now. I'm the orig owner and will keep it for awhile longer probably.

No tranny issues.

The entire interior of the car rattles now. It absolutely pisses me off. The rear-deck lid used to be the only rattle. Now I have a major rattle coming from where the center dash meets the windshield. HMMMM.

They warranty the automatics untill 100k. If you have a 6speed, then they don't. Those won't need replacing.

now 119,xxx miles (I drive a lot. More highway miles than anything. A lot of road trips too.)

Stupid SRS light...OPDS went out after I bought the car
It's back again for the seatbelt sensor. (I'm lazy.)
Regular maintenance
Still on 1st tranny.

I purchased it on 01-27-05 with 33,394 miles on it.

-On the due-bill of purchase, had them replace rotors, and replace seat cover.
-05/29/05 at exactly 39,999 miles, transmission #2 installed, all motor mounts replaced, transmission mounts replaced, and rotors replaced. All under warranty.
-11-15-05 rotors again, at exactly 51,000 miles replaced good will warranty. Had to fight with them, they blamed my aftermarket suspension for warping my rotors
Also had them replace my bose speakers. Which they blamed my Pioneer AVM-8000R. I proved them wrong by taking out my TV, and plugging in my factory unit within 5 minutes. Still had to fight them. They finally replaced speakers in goodwill.
-05-05-06 Rotors yet again at 70,000 miles. My wallet felt a lot lighter after that.

That's about it. I need new rotors again.
My sunroof rattles with extreme bass. I just pop up the sunroof a little, and it's fine.

2001 CL-S, bought in spring 2003 w/40K miles.

Summer 2005
1. AC coolant hose blew out - Warranty covered it.
2. Replaced bad auto-dimming rear-view - Warranty covered it
3. SRS sensor died in passenger seat - Went round-n-round with dealership - Was NOT warrantied
4. Had 2nd gear oiler assembly installed under tranny recall at this time as well.

Now has 115K and I still drive her like I stole her...

2003 CL-S
Purchased: July 2006
Mileage: 62K miles

February 2007
1. Tranny failed with 77k miles and had it replaced under warranty.
2. Front bumper cover fixed after it was backed into by a bad driver.
3. Passenger side seat cover replaced due to body shop worker putting two holes in it by accident.

78.5k miles on the clock now and she's running great with the new tranny. Brakes are the next fix. Going to upgrade to slotted/drilled rotors and ceramic pads. Current rotors are warped and noisy.

Bought my '01 CLS used back in '04. Presently have 103K miles with no tranny issues to date . Just finished timing belt change along with associated other changes for 105K service. Only other quirks are the damn friggin' rear panel for the front seats !! Also while doing the timing belt service, noticed that engine mount was starting to tear so will be replacing that soon...

I have 150,000 miles on my 2001 Acura CL Type S:

1) Replaced the transmission @ 60k (warranty). I had to replace the rotors (due to me negligence).
2) Brake pads - a few sets.
3) I had to replace all the motor mounts (I think it's from me punching all the time) I had a warranty item that was replaced.
4) Timing Belt, Water pump at 131,000
5) Stock rims (my rims were too scratched up for my taste) I went and got TSX wheels - looks sweet.
6) Cupholder - got a new one - it works much better. My drinks kept falling using the stock one. It was porrlly designed.

I change the oil every time on schedule. Currently I also change the transmission fluid every other oil change (I want to make sure that I don't have any transmission problems). My goal is to get to 300k on this same transmission.

This is looking pretty good so far, for me, a probably]e 03 CL-S6 buyer. So far the only trend I see is the rotors warping, which is a very easy and semi-cheap fix.

Bought it with 64k back in 2002.
Replaced/rebuilt tranny 3 times.
Blew the engine with 140k on tach
Just the usual wear and tear on the car.

Love it, and never had any major problems with it. (I was going to blow the engine on purpose with a 175 shot, but was not given the opportunity. I blew it 2 days before my new jets came in)

03 CLS6 NAVI SMR
Bought pre owned certified in Oct 06 48K
Currently have 55K miles,

In those six months I have had a few minor break issues (dealership took care of resurfaced rotors and new pads)

The front left wheel bearing went bad and produced a clicking noise when releasing the clutch (dealership fixed under warranty)

I had the dealership replace the Purge Valve Solenoid (less ticking / got crap from service manager but they still replaced it under warranty.)

My dash is expanding / seperating slightly right where the defroster vents are.

Crappy tires were brand new from the dealership (drive her hard every once in a while, but suckers need to be replaced)

All dealership visits was provided with an 07 loaner... Twice a TSX, one time a 07 TL type S.. milked that sucker for 2 days.

Overall Im satisfied... whatever small issues I may have until 100K are covered, but I've been working on my own cars since I was 15. Not the least bit worried about any major problems.... auto transmission... hint hint... (6 SPEED)!!

Oh yeah, and mods:
Icebox. 20% tints.. woodgrain vents... lip spoiler and CT springs, sways, and Tokico shocks on the way.. by summer 19" RJ RAVENS bout it

03 CL-S 6spd.

Owned for 1.5 years and 57k miles (purchased used, now at 105k). Other than regular oil changes at 5-7k intervals:

-Front rotors/pads replaced at 85k(?)
-105k service including timing belt, new battery and rear brakes done a month ago. All PM stuff basically.

Can't complain, it does what it is supposed to and doesn't give me problems. I had an Audi before this, so having a reliable car where everything works is something I am not used to! I plan on keeping this as a daily driver and getting a Carrera as a toy this summer.

Thumbs up 2001 Cl-S 149k miles

2001 CL-S SM Red / Parchment
Purchased in 2004 with 82k miles on it (was looking at a BMW 328is but couldn't resist this beauty sitting on the showroom floor in mint condition at an unbelievable price. I've always wanted one of these).
Currently has 149k miles, no tranny problems for me yet.
Here's the list (not counting routine maintenance items):

1)- Took it in for the tranny recall even though I had no problems.
2)- Sticky sport shifter (fixed it with WD-40)
3)- Seat belts weren't retracting and memo seats didn't work (both warranty)
4)- Worst brakes on any car I've ever owned, replaced rotors and pads twice. They were at the point a few months ago where I felt the car was actually dangerous to drive.
5)- SRS airbag light (warranty last week)
6)- Front wheel bearings at 140k
7)- Motor mounts at 140k
8)- Small but annoying console rattle
9)- Rear dash rattle, going to implement the "carpet wedge" fix this weekend
10)- Clear coat on both bumpers is peeling (I wax every 2 months with Zaino)
11)- Not really a "problem" but the fake wood trim is just atrocious
12)- The brakes are just plain terrible

Overall, I love my car. It looks great inside and out and it's been extremely reliable. The paint and brakes both suck (as we all know) but it's got cache, power to spare, it's gorgeous, and incredibly reliable (if I had the notorious transmission problems I'm sure I'd be singing a different tune). I was considering trading it in for something else a few weeks ago when I had the motor mount, wheel bearing, SRS problem, and brake problems (again) but I consider some of these to be normal maintenance for a car with 150k and the others I did myself. I've even been considering trying to find an 03 6spd.

01' CLS Sundance Gold, bought it in May of 05' with 50k on it tranny went 8 months later with 65K on it I have 84K on it now and no other issues other than the BOSE emblem falling off one of the rear speakers (Three JL 10w3 v2 prolly did not help) Other than that the worst has been resale.
