How is it gonna look? gun-metal on black cl-s?

I'm planning to get new 18 rims on my black cl-s. I like gun-metal with polished tip rims, but I thought it looks stupid on black cl-s.
What do you think? Did anyone put gun-metal on black cl? I would like to see some pics too.

If it's not good-looking, which one is good? chrome -> silver -> gunmetal -> bronze?

Word! I like the gun metallook but flat black with a polished lip would look awesome (at least on a black M3)!

I'm not a fan of black rims on black car.. i prefer gunmetal w/ a polished lip on a black car. Do it.

Go to the thread about powder coated rims. Near the bottom of page one, my black satin chrome powder coated rims are shown on an anthricite car.

And no, I will not repaint my car black for you.

Actually, those wheels came from my first 2003 cls6 satin silver no navi. I think that wheel finish would look good on white (nicky pass), satin silver (me), anthricite (me) or black (brian).

If you're going to do a powder coating thing, there is a powder coating manufacturer called Tiger Drylac, and they have some of the coolest wheel finishes around. They have a high gloss black that has a slight amount of metal flake it in (of various colors) and I am absolutely dying to use that stuff. I don't know if you saw the thread last month, but I am the guy who powder coated Smittys calipers. I have sample panels at work. Tomorrow I will try to scan the panels and send them to Smitty, my picture posting host.

TD has a website. visit it if you wish, but trust me on this one. The sample colors (you can view them all) as displayed on your monitor are not done justice. You either need to get catalogs from TD, or visit a powder coating job shop. They usually have catalogs from everybody who makes powder coatings.
