Hondata ECU Tuning

I have heard quite a few good things about the Hondata ECU ROM tuning. They have had quite good success with the new flash memory type units especially with the new K-series motors (RSX, for one). A very reputable source confirmed their gains of nearly 18 WHP by ECU tuning alone! A stock RSX with just intake (this gives nearly 15 WHP) and ECU retuning made a tad over 200 hp at the wheels... which I think is pretty darn increcible.

I have requested more information and pricing for this kit and will keep you folks posted about a possible application for the CL-S. I think the kit comes with an EEPROM burner and software for the OBD-I and OBD-II equipped cars. The OBD-IIb cars, I think, have flash memory devices which can be easily reprogrammed, but is more expensive for a do-it-yourselfer.

What price can a 15whp gain command here... $300 - $400 considering it can be 'tunable' in the future?

for an rsx it'll set u back $595 plus shipping ur ecu 2 them so that they can map it 4u

As of now, they are working on applications for a turbo rsx, rsx-p, and supposedly looking 4 a CRV owner so they can work on the new k24bloc

Btw, that rsx gets pretty good gains from BPUs especially considering its just a 4cyl

I really want to build a K24 block with a RSX Type-R Head and other misc parts. This motor could possibly make 300 at the wheels... candidate for a 9s NA car. The current NA E.T. is 10.3x something and this car makes 268 at the wheels

I know u want 2 build a motor but i'd still figured i'd get this in here :

Most members at the rsx board w/an turbo are running 13.3-13.8 shich is pretty good..there is one dude running 12psi but i do not know if he's been 2 the track (doubt it)

But bro, ur right, I hear that engine has very very good potential all though I hear the CRV heads won't work cause they are 2 long or something

Not Heads

No... you don't use the CRV heads... only the crank. You want to displace 2400cc the cheapest way, so you need a couple of parts from that motor.

so bro the CRV parts that are need will directly swap into the RSX engine like the inter-part swapping b/w the bseries engines?

P.s. is it true that the japanese NSX TYPE R runs a 1/4 mile b/w 12.0-12.4 sec???

Doug from Hondata looked at my car while I was @ AEBS getting my car dyno'd. Our ECU can not be flashed since it isn't a EEPROM.

I used Hondata before on my turbo integra GSR. Quite ez to use except you have to burn the chip everytime which is a hassel. Hondata comes in different stages. Stage 4b (b= boost) is highest which comes with tuning software. Although I got rid of the Integra and sold the Hondata, i still have a copy of the tuning software that can be passed out and tune every Hondata car out there

Japanese NSX

The JDM NSX-R is very fast, but I think the Japanese don't rally run the entire 1/4-mile - they are metric and measure in meters, so their distance is a tad shorter than the 1/4-mile - hence the 12.0-12.4 E.T. When your terminal velocity is ~ 100 mph, even a car length or two distance is a few tenths.
