Went by the Honda dealer to buy an oil filter. The parts guy said that honda oil was now mobile 1 fully synthetic and Honda of America said don't put anything else in their cars. They only charge 24.00 for an oill charge but won't do anything but Hondas (no acuras). Buying the Honda Oil separately it's $4.00 a can there.

$24 for a 5 quart synthetic oil change parts + labor seems like too good a deal -- much below the market rate.

How do they get away with company policy of 5W-20 in all their new model cars? -- Mobil 1 does not make a 5W-20 oil (yet).

Sounds like BS. $24 for fully synthetic oil change is very low, its just impossible. Perhaps they will start using regular oil produced by Mobil, maybe synthetic blend.... but no way synthetic for $24. He was probably telling you lies to make you want to use their services.

I wouldn't believe him either. Why would they do that at Honda, but not Acura, their luxury brand?
