Honda Civic Type R Coming to the States?
The current issue of Motor Trend (April 2003) reports that Honda will (finally!) bring the Civic Type R stateside. It will be introduced as an '04 model in the fall of this year, apparently replacing the disappointing Civic Si. Thoughts anyone?

I guess they have too. The SI is a dissapointment in terms of sales. The old SI sold like hot cakes. The new Si isn't that bad though. The gears are really easy to find and the seats are nice. The dash is pretty plain though.

Revving at 9K...
I don't like the new body style either... it does have that Minivan look to it.. the only thing I really like is the shifter..
They should bring back the old EK design.. If they broght that generation of CTR here, I would buy it in a heart beat..

You know, I don't think I've seen a Si outside the dealership. It's just not an attractive car...and a little under powered compared to the competition. I think Honda would have sold more if they released a coupe or sedan Si but not that fugly hatch. Hopefully Honda will learn from their mistakes.

Having owned a 00 FBP Si, I was excited to see if the new Si would be better in any way. However, the minivan style definitely was a huge turnoff, as was the disappointing power and the shifter. While some say the shifter is closer to your right hand, it actually is not by that much.
I hope the Type R will come from the UK the same way it looks over there, which is pretty badass.
