So would this ( http://www.raceinspired.com/p-545-hk...1998-2002.aspx ) look like this one? http://www.autocarparts.com/part/1296/2/

I'm not really concerned about the piping, I'll be getting custom piping from the cat back anyway, I really just want that muffler/tip look for the actual "CL" model of Super Drager's.

Since that exhaust was design with the mid muffler still being intact, I expect your exhaust to be noticeably louder, as well as more raspy.

I think the HKS exhaust is plenty loud with the mid-muffler in place, which is how I have it now. It doesn't drone much at all on the freeway and loud enough around town.
I can't imagine how bad the drone is gonna be without the mid-muffler.

Exactly what I'm thinking too. My 03 CL-S6 had the HKS Super Dragger and i had more intake than exhaust sound. It was nice. No droan at all.

I plan on getting all new piping from the cat back once I get it, probably 2.5in, which reminds me, what's the stock exhaust piping diameter? Yes, I ordered it them. I can't wait lol.

I did, and I just realllllly don't feel like sorting through page after page of searches that come up with something to do with exhaust and Acura.

Make sure you keep a mid-muffler or your custom piping will cause major droan issues. 2.5 from Cat to the split then 2.25 to the mufflers is a good set-up. This exhaust wont make much power though until you add headers. Headers make the most gain anyway 25-30hp. If you have auto you can get away with cheaper brands (DC Sports/Megan Racing) if not then Comptech is almost you only brand for 6spd. If your exhaust flow is getting corked by a stock header, a after-market exhaust can not do much of anything for your car.

It's an auto and I'm not looking for any power gains, I don't care about making the CL fast. It's fat and FWD, not a good combo. As for the piping, it can always be changed.

So why change piping if you dont want more power. It defeats the pupose. Your auto still can be fast. High to mid 14's. If you don't want any more power just put on the mufflers and leave there. The HKS super draggers are expensive. If you want cat-back at a cheap price do Tsudo cat-back exhaust.

Cause I want new piping, the almost 10 year old piping doesn't look too appetizing right now. Tsudo sounds like crap IMO, and I love the style of the HKS. I'm fine with spending a little bit of $ to get what I want.

the bigger piping on the HKS mufflers will cause a droan... but right-on.

Once again, if I don't like it, I'll just go smaller, it's not terribly difficult to do. Thanks for the opinions though I really appreciate all the help. Mufflers are set to be here Friday!

$444.50 with free shipping. Yes, it's direct bolt on, comes with brand new bolts, gaskets, washers, etc. It took us awhile to do it cause one of my oem bolts wouldn't come off so we had to use a hack saw and cut the head off, after that it was about 15 minutes and the HKS cans were on. I LOVE the sound, I just got home from driving around for like an hour lol. I'll post a pic of them on the car tomorrow, they sit nicely.

If you have laws about modified exhaust you might want to spray the muffler a flat black or something non-reflective. My friend has them on his 6spd 2g TL and the light up bright as hell when you I drive behind him.

Who has laws like that other than exhaust numbers noth being good enough to pass inspection? Exhausts wouldnt do that. Only the lack of cats would.

Noise ordinance laws. Thats why a lot of exhaust manufacturers make it under 93db. If a cop thinks your exhaust is too loud he just has to see the big shiny cans sticking out from your bumper to pull you over and nail you with a ticket.

Have you never heard this exhaust? The Look of the exhaust dont say "i'm loud" bro. Whether its flashy or not. If its loud, its loud. That said, this exhaust is quiet. I had it on my CL...

If you've ever heard Apexi WS it's just like that. It's not LOUD like an N1 muffler. It's a tad louder than stock but deeper. Almost like a stock G35/350Z's exhaust... You're comments about this exhaust are funny...haha!!!

Get on Youtube if you want to hear this...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnCgIgKfnLY
I almost died when you implied cops give a ticket because he has an exhaust. That's unheard of.

A officer cat give you a tkt because he/she "thinks" you exhaust is loud. They have to HEAR it. Thats like saying someone shouldnt dress a certain way because a cop may search him/her because they think he/she is a drug dealer/user....lol.

Yeah, what he said lol. Trust me, the cops in the little college town I live in don't give a damn about that kind of stuff. Even in St. Louis, where I'm from, no cops are going to pull you over for loud exhaust unless you are driving like an idiot. As for them being shiny, I don't think that matters one bit, they're mufflers, not lights.

How are you enjoying the exhaust? I loved it on my CL-S6. You hear more intake than exhaust which I loved.

In certain states they do have laws stating you cannot modify the exhaust from stock in any way (NY, I can locate the statute if you are interested). In NY, unless your exhaust is really loud or you did something stupid, you wont get a ticket for it.

I love it. It sounds so damn good. Been driving a lot this weekend lol. It fits so perfectly too, so they just look amazing as well. Tested some highway speeds, 70 with cruise its ridiculously quiet, 65 isn't bad, and 80 is kinda loud, but it's okay cause I love the sound of it anyway. And yeah, the motor really takes over in the top end, my intake is stock (unless a K&N drop in counts?). Had one of my buddies drive it so I could hear it outside the car and I love how so not in-your-face it is, even all the way up at like 6 grand. It's a really defined, yet aggressive tone and I love it, very happy with my purchase.

And I don't doubt that places have those laws about exhaust, I just don't think it's something that is very common, especially in western Missouri lol.

Okay so I finally got a few videos of the exhaust. I have one more in car but it kinda sucks, so if anybody wants to see it let me know.
