hey Soopa 2 ?'s

hey first when you mentioned in a previous post about a cat back exhaust maybe adding some performance what about true duel's? and second this is to anyone that can answer this is the second time i feel like my tranny has slipped in 5th if your crusin and the rev's are at about 2k in 5th and you give it gas not enough to make it go alot faster but just enough that you would start increasing speed(maybe not the best explaination) and the engine runs up to 3500 but you can tell that you're not in 4th at this point is that slipping?my car only has 1500 miles on it and they're really not hard miles???

Your tranny is normal, I guess. You can all the time check what gear you are in by switching to SS. If you slowly increase throtle while in 5th and above 60 from my experience it wont downshift to 4th.
Even sometimes under heavy foot it did not downshift!

The best course is, if this behavior is repeatable, to take to the dealer, let a mech supervisior rides with you and repeat the tranny behavior.
I would be correct at no cost.

I think what you are experiencing is the lock-up feature of the torque converter, which is entirely normal. For a poor explanation read on... The tranny locks up to save gas, in doing so it forms a solid mechanical link between the the crank shaft and the transmission. Acting much in the same way as a manual transimision. When the circumstances require more power to the wheels, the torque converter "unlocks" and allows the engine to rev higher to provide the extra power to the wheels. (as you described in your situation) I know this is a rudimentary explanation, but I think what you're experiencing is completely normal. If you're still unsure, I would see the dealer to ease your mind.

Dude, WHY ARE YOU labeling your cl-s as a Type-R??? Your car is NOT a type-R, so don't confuse people by labeling you CL-S as a TYPE-R.

i think what you are describing is the intake plenum opening up, which seems like it's downshifting. when you let back off the gas, it closes for better gas mileage dropping the rpm's
