Hey guys. I have been having nothing but trouble with my CL-S in the past year. I am wondering if anyone has these problems or can help. My car seems to have an irregular shift pattern on acceleration between 1st & 2nd geer. when it shifts it seems to have a shutter and then a loud rattling sound happens and i was wondering if this was normal. also on acceleration i am getting a rattle noise that sounds like a loose bolt rattling around in the engine and is more noticeable with the air on. the dealer has said it was many different things, from a belt tensioner to exausut resonance but now they say its normal because they cant seem to fix it. What should i do. Also does anyone else have a rattle in the rear deck when it is hot out. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't know about the tranny, but the rattle may be either the third brake light housing rattling against the rear glass or the moonroof sunshade. I know when my sunshade is rattling the sounds seem to come from every which direction.

 

I have the same rattle problem. Sunroof and rear deck. It is in the shop now getting taken care of. Dealer told me that the sunroof rattle is caused by the rubber seal rubbing against the paint. I told the dealer I did not care why it rattled, I just wanted it fixed.

My power seat stopped working on the drivers side. They had to order "new guts" for it. My car has been at the dealer since Tuesday. They told me the part was on order and they were not sure when it will be in. Oh well, at least the loaner integra I am driving now does not rattle.

 

The engine accessory drive belt auto tensioner is known for making a rattle sound similar to what pre-detonation sounds like and is prevelant in the 1200-2000 RPM range....the dealer may be right...but have they replaced ***that***part yet??? If no, what are they waiting for...

 

i didn't have any rattles, but my tranny was leaking fluid so they replaced my tranny. i did hear a scraping noise around 20 to 40 mph from the left front. turned out to be a bum cv boot and they replaced that too. keep bugging your dealer, at least it's documented. when you car actually stops running because of it, they have no excuses. one more thing, save all paper work. good luck.
