Help: radio code won't work
I reconnected the battery after installing a intake ............. and then proceed with the original radio security code. But the damn thing just won't accept it. The radio keeps on giving me the ERROR message ........
My radio was working fine before I disconnect the battery, and the code is the original code when I bought the car(it worked many times before).
Each time I enter the code, it goes from ERR1 ~ ERR2 ~ ERR3 ..........
I tried to disconnected and reconnected the battery and start over again, still won't work.
Called the dealer, varified my serial number and code - they can't do anything for me.
Any ideas guy?
Thanking you in advance.
Alan

Cruising in ATL!!
you called the dealer and verified ur serial number and code and that didn't help??? that's odd... it has to be your Headunit then... if you are still under warranty, take it in... It should def be covered by manufacturing warranty.

yeah ......... that's the thing .......... my car is out of warranty already, and taking to the dealership will only charge me money that I would rather just change out the whole system.

Na I had the same problem. I had to just keep trying to put the code into the radio, every time I restsarted the car. It took like 10 times, but it finally took the code. Make sure you don't keep unpulgging the radio to reset the error message, it's gotta be left plugged in.

Thank you, I will keep on trying after work today.
Question: after 10 tries entering the code (after ERR9), the system just shuts down and won't let me enter any more codes. How did you get pass that without disconnecting the battery?
Thanks again

I prefer John Eagle, they did all my major works.
But for this radio problem, non of the dealerships in Houston can help me. I called all 3 already, no clues.

Regarding the ERR 1...9...from what I remember, it should fry the unit after 10 unsuccessful tries. I didn't know that you could still reset it by killing power to it again.
Just for kicks, open your glove box. On the left side you'll see a sticker with the code...

Thanks, I will give Charlie Thomas a call(where I bought my car).
Did you had the same problem before? If so, how did you fix it?

I live in Clear Lake. So after having an issue with one of their sales staff (Charlie Thomas, Champion...whoever they are now...they all sold to AutoNationUSA) I walked out of CThomas, went to Gillman to the other side of town who dug through to find me an Aegean and were great from day one.
Good thing is the fact that Service and Sales are two different staff and I actually get along very well with Service at Charlie Thomas...otherwise, I'd have issues.
I had a similar issue a while back but was able to have the unit accept the code on the third try. I'm somewhat considering blasphemy and taking the stock unit out to put in a navigation system. I love Bose...don't get me wrong, but I have Sirius also and having it sound like AM radio is getting a bit old now. I'm still debating that though..we shall see.

It was really frustrating, but after many failed attepts, ten plus, it finally started working again. I'm not sure, but if you unhook the battery too many times the radio turns into a stubborn little bitch and doesn't put out
, anti-theft, not sure why.

Wow, I have exactly the same problem. Called dealership, got code, entered it and nothing.
I only tried 3 times though. Do we really need to do it 10 times??
thanx
