Help: Clear Coat or Nu-finish Polymer Wax is nnogh?
I had to use a steel wool to clean up salt-rust from the polished lip of the 18" wheels..
In the process, the clear coat had to be stripped (Very bad)... That me big time... I had to clean up at least 2 wheel like this way... yesterday's wheel was not that bad.. one of those 2 wheels that I had to clean up today had a lot of rust...
I used Nu finish Polymer wax to polish the wheels with results shown in yesterday pictures
Now, I feel that the Nu-finish would not be enough to protect the wheels' lip from further rust...
What do I do?
1) Use the Nu-finish Polymer wax only?
2) Get a clear coat spray (what do you recommend?) and prep the wheel's lip with rubbing Alcchool and then Apply the clear coat...then Wax them off with the Nu-finish?
What do you think is best?
Thanks for the help

I guess I have to get a new claer coat... I tried a Nu-finish on one section... after buffing the wheel lip lost it polished look... It looks like a mat Aluminum....
How about those Al Wheel (metal) Polish things, specially made to polish Al and Chrome CAI pipe, Wheels...etc...

Obtain the polished look your looking for with Mothers or a high quality alum. polish. Then have a body shop clear coat it. Then you wet sand and polish the Clear...apply a good wax and your brand new again. The clear in cans SUCKS!!!!
Good LUck!!
