Hey I'm new to the forums but not a "newbie" when it comes to cars, moding, etc. Anyway, trying to make a buying decision and I need some help. So here goes.

Information that I need to verify:

1. 00-03 CL's and 00-03' TL's 5-speed auto, Bad tranny so not even considering.

2. 97-99 CL's and 96-98 TL's 4-speed auto, Better tranny mostly reliable

3. 99 TL, newer body style TL but with 4-speed auto, How is this tranny?

I am pretty much looking for an entry level sport/luxury 4-door so there are multiple choices obviously. Only 2-door I am considering is the 1st Gen CL. Here a list I have narrowed it down to based on price(20-25k), performance, luxury, quality

1. Lexus ES300 99-00(Realiable as hell, super quiet ride)
2. Acura TL 98 or (99 - If I can determine the reliability of that tranny?)
3. Nissan Maxima SE 01-02 (02's very fast stock four door)
4. Acura CL 98-99

Also, another big consideration is head room/leg room, I'm 6'3", 240 not fat just a big mofo. I know the Maxima is ok thought it could use a little more legroom. Lexus ES, haven't driven one lately, good friend used to own one can't remember. What about the CL/TL. On the TL, diff. b/t 1st and 2nd Gen in head/leg room. Guess I need to do some test driving.

Really like the lexus but the two-tone color deal isn't too hot, the only that looks good is in black/gray. I want a silver or white car b/c they are easier to keep clean and don't show too many swirl marks when waxed.

Any input would be appreciated especially on the Acura's. Thanks
