Help after resetting ECU

i couldnt find ANY solutions on this in the search.

i followed the instructions on resetting my ECU by unpluging the battery. i turned my car on after hooking it back up, and let it sit there and idle for 20 minutes until the maintenence light was off, and the NAV finished with it's thing.

but now, the last two weeks, everytime i start my car, the MAINTENECE REQ' light flashes for ten seconds on every start up.

what do i do? thanks

the two cruise control buttons
hold them down then insert your key and turn
on the engine.

hold them down for 20 seconds then let go

then turn off engine and turn back on

It's telling you that you are coming up on a maintenence period, mileage wise! Pretty soon it will be on "solid"! - no flashing

I believe that the two buttons are the reset and the select buttons for the mileage settings, NOT the cruise control!!!

Check your manual! ...It's in there!

I think it is a coincidence. You just happened to reset the ECU at a time when the system was starting it's service reminders. How many miles are on the odo?

my odometer is at 12,000. the last time i was in was at 9,500 for oil change. is this coincidence? i didnt think so because it never did that on other oil changes, only after i reset the ECU.
