i pulled up to a mobil, filled up and was about to take off but then panic'ed for a bit b/c i couldn't get the shifter to move over... after pressing the brake, i didn't gear the usual 'click' as i would... but then i tried the emergency override with a pocket knife and it slid into gear just fine...

i'm guessing it's a bad relay or solenoid (or at least i'm hoping)... anyone know of a simple solution? or is there a fuse i can check? or will this be a pricey fix???

we replaced a few brake switches lately on a few TL and MDX, it's the brake switch that activates the unlocking solenoid at the shifter. if it ever happens again, check if your brake lights turn on when you press the brake pedal....you'll have your answer right there
