Header and IceBox install???s(more)
I just ordered them yesterday from Dean, including the Ice box. I plan on installing them myself. I have lots of tools and I am fairly mechanically inclined. I got jacks, stands, extentions including wobble extentions, air compressor and all attachments. anything I should look out for? I searched around the useful topics and didn't find much. alot of threads promising full write ups later on the headers, but didn't find them.
I also downloaded the instructions from Comptech and read them both over carefully. there are lots of good documentations of the Ice box installs here, but honestly, I am a little worried about the header install. any suggestions and comments on the little things that aren't in the instructions? also, torque specs on the header to engine bolts and O2 sensor. I don't have a Helms manual. Where can I find one?
Thanks guys!

BTW, IF for some reason I cant do it in one day, I still got my wifes RSX to tear around in!

I never ran into any real snags, it was a pretty straight forward install. The only thing that gave me a bit of trouble was the furthest left bolt on the front manifold, it was hard to get at, but those wobble extentions will help. My mechanic friend did the rear manifold, so I can't tell you about that one. I don't think it was complicated, just hard to get to.

You have all tools needed.. also check the pics of the headers installation I posted. they may help. Torque numbers are also posted by Jens.
All what you need is time!
helm's service manual is like $60, you can order one from helminc.com If you are wrenching on your car, get the service manual.

It shouldn't be that hard. The torque specs for the manifold are 25lbs. BUt good luck using a torque wrench on the rear one and a few ont he front. Just tighten it by hand, but not too much.

Only problem I had was getting the rear header over the studs. The rear engine mount got in the way so I unbolted the mount, jacked up the engine a bit and it slipped right on. Hopefully you won't have this problem... But hey, once they are installed...
