Has anyone here installed the Spoiler themselves?!

I am buying the factory Acura spoiler, from another member, and wanted to know how hard it is. I saw the 2 spots under each side of the trunk lid, but where do the wires come through? Also what holds it in? A bolt? I guess the wire harness is under that sound cover on the lid of the trunk so I will have to pull that off I am sure. But anyone who has info it would be greatly help my situation. Thanks.

I would recommend just paying for it unless you have experience doing this type of work and basing on your asking this question, I presume that you dont. So dont experiment on your nice brand new CL and pay for an install.

Well I have installed many things on cars, just never done this on a Acura. So I am just trying to understand how it goes on the Acura. That's really all.

You will need to upgrade the tension bars as well, other wise, be carefully. Your head is no match for the trunk lid with added weight from the spoiler while your car is parked on an incline

i did it on my first gen..... the holes are pre-marked, and wire taps are included with the wiring. it's not hard to tap into the brake light at all. you have to adjust the tension bars in the trunk so it doesnt hit you on the back of the head everytime. i've been too lazy to that.

I installed spoilers myself on my old 94 Honda Accord, old 97 Honda Prelude and 01 CL-S. It's really not that difficult to drill the holes and bolt it on. The wiring is relatively simple also. You just need the proper tools: template, drill, drill bits. The tricky part is installing the higher tension trunk springs. Taking them off is easy. Putting the new ones on requires a special "trunk spring install tool" cost under $10. But the dealer wont sell it to you. I guess they want you to pay them $200+ to put it in. Maybe you could order it online?
