By the hair of my nutsack...
I was out for a drive tonight, trying to clear my head, when my radar detector goes apeshit. Of course, me not thinking clearly, i manage to not brake for several seconds. The cop passes by me going the other way. He goes quite a ways behind me - far enough to be out of sight for a bit. I could have ran, it was the perfect place to run - tons of side streets and subdivisions to hide in. But i decided to play it safe and just cruise at 3 under.
So the cop turns around and follows me for a good half mile and then pulls me over. He claimed i was doing 56 in a 45, but it didn't seem like it. I wasn't paying attention, so he could have been right. I was coming around a sharp corner so i figured i would have been going the limit, but i guess not.
He comes up, asks me what i was doing, where i live, etc. Goes back to his car. Comes back a few minutes later, says have a good night and watch out for deer.
Cliff notes: i got pulled over for 56 in a 45, cop let me go. This is surprising, since i'm 17. Typically they like busting teens around here, guess i was nice enough to not get own3d.

My radar detector has saved me quite a bit, but............ I have gotten out of more tickets cause I was wearing OR scrubs. Man I've even gotten out of tickets for going 30 in a school zone ( which is a big no no here in Houston) cause I wearing scrubs and I had my stethescopes on my rear view mirror. Anyways, watch out for the MAN!!!!

Yep, If you were nice, it definitely helped.
If you cop an additude, you're on your way to a ticket. If you "yes, sir", "no, officer sir", you can get yourself out of some of the close ones.
When I had my first vw bus, with greatful dead stickers and a "its 420 time" sticker on the back (compliments of the prior owner). I ran out of gas about 1/2 a block from my house. Cop pulled up behind me and I thought "oh, shit", I'm in for it now.
After the "yes, sir, no sir" bullshit, he didn't search the vehicle for drugs, but helped me push the car around the corner (w/ the crusiers emergency lights on) to my house![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Being nice doesn't cost you a thing, and it might just save your ass sometimes

I LOVE MY V1!
Had a rental car this weekend. Sate Troopers were out all over the interstate this weekend. My right foot was a bit heavy
but I laughed as a few cars passed me, & I saw them get pulled over by the troopers coming down the other side of the HW. Some guy in a Benz blew past me he must have been in the 90's. I saw him a few miles down pulled over by not 1, or 2, but 3 cars! V1 is the best investment!

Yeah, the cops were out this weekend here in Chicagoland. My V1 was constantly brapping. I couldn't even get 10mph over the limit without having to slow down for law-inforcement up the road.
