Had the Park Ave Experience Today

Well yesterday I dropped off my car at the Mecca of Acura dealerships on the East Coast, Park Avenue Acura in Maywood, NJ. I had the following put on Comptech Sways, Springs, Sway Bars, Ice Box, SS Brake Lines, Headers and Koni Yellows.

My service rep was Tom Schou and he was a really great guy. Very courteous and friendly like the rest of the staff there. I was given a 02-03 TL as a loaner and I was back on the road in less then 10 minutes.

I returned earlier today and spoke to Peter Vandenberghe another service rep there who was a class act the whole way. We chatted it up for a bit, got a ton of freebies and I was on my way. All the parts were installed beautifully by Jens and the rest of the crew. My stock parts were sitting in sealed boxes in the trunk. They run a tight ship over there.

The only thing I can say that was a negative about my experience was the small amount of traffic I hit on my way back through the city to the island. Something PAA can't control, at least not yet.

Overall it feels like I’m driving a totally different car and I can't say enough about the way it handles now. The off the line as well as the passing power is totally improved and I can say on my 30 minute detour I intentionally took I had a grin from ear to ear.

Once again the way I was treated over at PAA and the great service they performed was second to none in my opinion. Thanks again guys.

If your within a reasonable distance, or maybe even not, this is THE place to go to. I know I'll be back for sure.

And darrin is this sig now an improvement??

It’s about 85 miles for me as well, but I don’t have a problem doing this for a scheduled service or a MAJOR aftermarket install like Chaptorial had done.

I just drive over there after work because I’m right near the interstate.
I leave at 4:30 and get there about 6:00PM and drop my car off and pickup the loaner.
I’m usually home by about 7:30.
I then take the loaner to work in the morning and repeat the same deal the following evening.

Just make sure you set this up with them well in advance so they know what you’re doing.
My local dealer ISN’T “Comptech friendly” so I go to PAA whenever it’s something related to that.

Its like driving a totally different car. Right off the bat you can fell how much more solid the car feels. When you take a turn almost all body roll is now nonexistent with the help of the springs, sways, strut bar and koni’s. I LOVE the drop the Comptech springs give on the car. We’re not talking 4pumpedCL territory here but it just looks like this is the way it should have come out straight out of the factory. Not to low but no longer a 4x4 look at all.

I had the SS Brake Lines put in and they really make a difference in the way the brake pedal feels. While the brakes themselves haven't been updated the pedal feeling itself makes you think your stopping with the help of some Brembos. Again this is the way it should have come from the factory.

Now off the line performance is improved but its still not bone shattering. You can tell the icebox made and improvement there however. Now once you get up into the upper RPM's you can totally tell how much of an improvement the headers make. It freaking rips through the shifts now and passing power at higher speeds is truly awesome.

Other then the S/C the only mods that are out now would be pulleys and then an upgraded exhaust. Some new rubber is gonna come soon too. Still waiting on the chip.

For now however i'm having a blast!

Mine isn't either. Ardmore Acura told me that they could put my Comptech Springs on but wouldn't warranty the Springs and would charge me $570.00 to do it.

I never was pleased with their service either.

Acura of Turnersville has excellent Customer Service But won't touch a Comptech part.

Doing some quick math in my head the parts/labor adds up to about 4,200 unless he got a special deal on all the install labor.

Yessir, we have another convert! I'm thinking of taking my G there (PAA also owns an Infiniti dealership). So far, to the best of my recollection, kensteele holds the record for the forum member farthest away to visit PAA.

over 200 from here ... have made the trip once ... anticipate making another trip in the not too distant future for shocks/rear springs to finish off the suspension work

Ohhhhhh man Chaptorial I'm JEALOUS! I too had the Park Ave experience, I'll go there for everything from now on. I also had Tom when I went in there. And when I picked up I also spoke with Peter and had a conversation with Jens while he was working on my car. They are all great people over there, a pleasure to talk to. I didn't get quite as many mods installed as you did tho Well anyway, the car looks great , can't wait to get some of the stuff you got.. I want headers next.

we have basically the same car!! 03 Anthracite 5AT . .we should definetly meet up some time.

Man way to go!! I can't believe you did all those mods at once. That has to be a rush. I totally agree about the comptech drop. Looks like where the stock springs should have been.

PAA is great. I tried talking to my Acura dealer to install some aftermarket parts for me and they said that they wouldn't do it, liability of parts and labor or some bull. I think that all dealers can learn something from PAA.
