Had a dyno done this morning...

With the IceBox as the only mod. However I forgot about my 18's, & didn't put the stock rims on the front. I should have. No point is posting any graph. I dyno'd the same as the stock dyno. I'm sure I did get gains from the IceBox, but the weight of the 18's offset any power increase. I did get a -HP # the tech said that was the HP loss from the tranny, tires, etc. It was -21HP, It was only -13hp on the stock dyno. He said if I take the difference, that's what I gained in HP. So that's 8HP.
The numbers were 214HP 200Torque. I wonder if my car is even putting down the same stock #'s. Since I had that engine problem, where they rebuilt both heads. The dealer said it was to factory specs, I'll always wonder. This car, or at least mine runs very rich too. Is that normal? The air/fuel dropped to a low of 10.5 at 6500RPM & to a high of 15 at 2100RPM. The tech said I could get some really good gains by leaning thinigs out a bit.

Over rev code was found ran real bad, stalled a few times. Claimed I over rev'd it. I didn't, had 50 miles when I picked up up couldn't prove it, so they fixed it. Bent valves, & warped heads.

10.5, damn, that is really rich, but i thought you dont gain much power if you are running rich, only if you are running lean and then riching it out.

Honestly.... its usually the combination of a few mods (especially 'breathing' mods as I call it for headers, intake, exhaust etc.) that make power. Comptech's dyno is pretty optimistic... so 8hp is understandable. There should be no reason for your car to vary 5 points in A/F as your timing/fuel-maps are controlled by the ECU and hopefully are the same for all 6spds.

However, a faulty O2 sensor, incorrectly positioned timing-belt, etc. can cause problems. I would do a compression-check to see if everything is even (never know what these dealers do!) and also do a valve-adjustment.

Really don't expect 230+whp without the headers.

Headers are next. I should be getting those in a few weeks. The point was to get a real dyno of just the IceBox. No codes on the computer. I had the dealer scan it last week, after I passed 5K miles on the rebuilt heads. The car ran just as rich when the stock dyno was done before the engine was opened.
