I doubt he can run a 1/4 that fast w/ those mods. Unless he's spraying.

Well, since we have seen a auto CLS with CAI/headers/Pulleys run a 14.1-14.3. And then add a port and polish /w 5 angle valve job. Which depending on how well the job was done it could add 40-60hp (crank) (depending on how bad the flow is already) Might only add 20hp max /w intake plenum polished too. Only a dyno would really know.

Wonder if scalbert dyno'd his car after he did it...

And that would be a 13.5-13.6 on a good day.

Although I just saw his

"Est. Horsepower: 319"

hmm...

Wonder if his ET is an EST too...

13.5....not a chance with those mods. I actually kind of like the paint job on that thing..even though it's pretty high on the riceometer. The JT autostyles front makes the thing look like a wide mouth bass from the front. Overall I'd say the guy has more money than taste.

13.5 from that car is IMPOSSIBLE....

becuase:

The Front Air Dam has a drag coefficient of 999.999999

The front is butt ugly...... it has to run the 1/4 in 13.5 to hide the front of the car!

In all seriouseness though a good cut port/polish and valve job along with headers/intake/ehaust/pullies on an 03 6mt is quite probably a 13.5 car in good conditions...

But if he says that he runs 13.5 with those rims and the 200+lbs of claimed stereo equipment in the car ... Ill have to raise the B.S. flag

Maybe with drag slicks and 20-degree F temps. The OEM valves already get a 3-angle valve job from the factory.

If you were talking a 3.5L with the exhaust and intake ports modified on a flow bench with a higher RPM limit, who knows.

The 3.2L port and polish generally bumps the HP/TQ at high power when that becomes the limiting factor. The intake on the CL vs. CLS is not all that different. IMO, the exhaust treatment is a bigger upgrade. (The CLS does get the higher compression and dual-stage Helmholtz plenum.)

IF make for more airflow at 7K, you have the potential of losing velocity and cylinder filling on the intake side with a BIG port and polish. The disturbed boundary layer can actually increases the effective air flow at lower rpms in an engine -- IOW, the rough surface narrows the laminar flow cross-section; this can increase low-end torque. The port and polish really comes into its own with S/C, displacement bumps, bigger valves, cams, and other synergistic mods.

Something seems "funny"... (with the S/C, etc set for spring)

319HP at crank -> won't see a 13.5 with an extra 200lbs and heavy wheels.

0..60 -> 4.2 (we're talking drag slicks again)...

You should re-read my post a bit more carefully...

You are running 13.x with the "juice"...

I clearly said that 315 crank HP would not do the job...

If the guy had nitrous, a S/C, all of the bolt-ons available and drag slicks (NOT 555Rs, but the real deal) and it was 20-degrees F out, he could run 13.5.

Is that clear enough for you?

I'm amazed, since there were a number of people that gave you a sharp stick up your rear with no lube over your claims...

It's gotta be the stickers, that's the determining factor here.

I think it's bullshit, especially with all that pointless stereo shit in the car.

Somebody needs to talk to him about it and see where he got those #'s and get a timeslip from him if he still insists on those times.

I know this guy

I'd like to try and clear this up...

I know this guy. He also lives in Danbury. About a month ago, (around 1am) I was driving home on I-84. He raced by me and I ended up racing him. I actually beat him off the line (and this was before my OBX headers - all I had was an Intake). It wasn't a true race as he had to pull behind me after, (went to 1 lane) but I was able to pull ahead a few times.

Granted he had 2 girls as passengers, but I think there is almost NO way it runs a 13.5. I am guessing low 14's at best. We pulled to a 7-11, and he said he was getting the Comptech supercharger in the spring, but at the time (about a month ago), all he had were Headers, AEM CAI and an Exhaust (and he had his stock 17's on, so I am sure with 20's now it's only slower). With all of the added weight from the sound system, entertainment system, and the fiberglass body kit, his car does not run those #'s he posted. (at least from what I saw)

He's a very cool guy though and the car really does look nice in person (although I have some issues with the front). The stripes are painted, not stickers. It's an impressive CL, with a TON of mods, but I have NO idea where those #'s came from. I give the guy respect for taking so much time and effort to mod a CL.

BTW, I told him about this site and told him to register here. Not sure if he's here, but if he is, I am sure he can verify we raced.

Ok, my $.02, allmotor_2000 is running 13.9xx without the P&P or valve job. If this guy ran his times without all the added wieght, i believe that P&P/valve job, cold temps, and nice tires, would reduce it by .4. Is this not that believable.

sorry to do this, but :flamer: , there is no way in hell...btw he doesnt have the charger yet if you read his introduction. Obviously the kid knows nothing about performance either when he's gonna put 20" chromes on too....jeez. I give the kid props, he's built a nice looking car, but then he goes and disgraces it by putting those bogus HP ratings and stuff.....WHY?

He doesnt have the blower yet, and on a side note, a CL-S 6 spd with a blower and all those mods will do sub 13.5's. Not with a 4x8 piece of plywood as a front bumper, ghetto stereo, and true dubs.

Not sure if people noticed my earlier post, but I RACED THE GUY... I live about 5 minutes from him. I pulled on him/kept even with him, with my Auto CLS that only had an intake. He had more people in his car, but I doubt that would make a HUGE difference. No way is he running a 13.5 unless he has a SC and NOS due to the added weight of the body kit, system, and the rims. And he mentioned he didn't have the SC yet.

if he has about 320 HP right now then on my Accord I got 200 HP
there's no way in hell he can run a 13.5 without spraying or the S/C.

I hate these guys that they have a low budget and then they get a body kit and a alright or good looking paintjob and then they do little or nothing to under the hood and go around town acting like since they did a paintjob it's added 100 hp. and they claim they've got a s/c or a turbo and all this other crap.when they know they don't
