GT3 1/4 mile on CL Type S
For those of you, who like to test your 1/4 miles time. Just wonder, have anyone of you use GT3 CL Types S 1/4 mile time compares to a real CL type S 1/4 mile time.
In GT3, a stock CL Type S automatic only runs 1/4 mile@15.5
, unless you use a stick shift mode and pass 7500rpm over redline then you can get 15.0 time. Will that work to our car? I mean, can we use SS mode to pass the redline? The reason I ask is because I've see lots of "Option" Japanese video, it shows a stock integra type R can upshift at 9000rpm.
How do you test your 1/4 mile? auto? ssmode? pass redline?

Just pass 1000 miles on friday

SS mode, dont shift at red line. if you do your homework on the CL typeS horsepower curve, it goes UP UP UP, then drops down if you go too high ( i want to say 6800 RPM's is the peak HP...? )

also horse power peaks at 6100~6800 the higher you go in that gear you'll be closer to vtec range in the next gear!

the fuel cutoff occurs at 7000, per acura specs. so, in fact, while many people (myself included) have seen the tachometer indicate 7100-7200 at fuel cutoff due to tachometer error, the cutoff will have generally occured close to the specifications (the cutoff point itself may also be off slightly due to computer error).
the horsepower, per acura, peaks at 6100 rpm. period. that's what the "260hp @ 6100 rpm" posted on their website means.
yes, you will need to rev beyond that point in order to put the engine back into the powerband after the upshift, but that has less to do with where the power peak occurs and more to do with gear spacing. going from 3rd to 4th in the type s will put you back below vtec, even when you shift just before fuel cutoff, because the distance between the two ratios is so wide.
