gruppe-s is a couple minutes from my job!
They do lots of work on Z's. I picked up my suspension kit from them. A buddy of mine had his suspension installed there w/ no issues.
A few people go to Motorsports on Whipple. I heard that a new owner was going to take over. Don't know if that has happened yet.

go to Honda/Acura Motorsport on Whipple. I got my springs done there. Coilovers shouldn't be much more. Decent prices and good service. You can ask them for a loaner too. Actually, I remember one of the guys offered me their personal car cuz I had my daughjter w/ me.

well if they have a good reputation and you/the customer feels confident that their car will be properly taken care of...I don't think $1400 is a rip off.....how many times have people taken cares to shops, for a discounted rate only to get it back with problems, knicks/scratches in paint, or excess miles on the car. if their work and reputation in their area inspires confidence they deserve it...part of what the customer is paying for is piece of mind and convience. also don't compare retial store prices to web prices...it's no big scret that the majority of retial websites support little to no overhead...while a "brick and mortor" retail store have to survive via their mark up.
besides there's little more offensive than when a potential customer tries to grind down the price on labor.....if you don't the installer is worth their wage, why would you bring you car to them in the first place....whats more important, telling you're friends you got a "killer" price or the confidence you willn't need an AAA membership to get you're car home.
ok that last part was a bit of a vent...but I have the privledge of dealing with it almost everyday
this is just my 2 cents, $1400 is a high price, but if you don't want to take the time to find a better and your confident with the shops work...it's a fair price.
oh ya also keep in mind the GOV gets almost $100 of that on sales tax alone...then I'm sure at some point the IRS gets more later
and yes 5150 autosports does have a website....www.5150autosports.com.....but unless you're looking for contact info....there's not much see...hasn't been updated in years
