Ground wire kits

There used to be a guy on the forum who made custom ground wire kits to fit our CL's perfectly. I did some research and searched through old threads and posts and found him. He got off the forum because he said that he wasn't getting enough business from our cars; so he stuck to making kits for G35/350Z. Anyways, I've contacted him and he's more that willing to make custom kits for our vehicles.

His company name is Szita Technologies; e-mail is SziTech@sbcglobal.net, a kit for our car is $69.00

Would anyone be willing? Please no b-sers. This guys been great with communication.

I personally think this is a bang-out price. I think AEM makes a kit (not specifically for our cars) at around $120...

Like snake oil, they sure so sell alot of 'em tho'

at the snake oil

its not really a hp or tq gain; you should see better throttle response and it helps the ecu transfer data more efficiently... you may see 2hp, from what I hear

i ordered a kit from him before in black, it's quality and the install is fairly straight forward.

but i did take it off my car and sold it. the only thing i noticed was that with the stock radio installed it reduced some humming and the radio was clearer, but now i have an aftermarket deck and yea...

I can see it somewhat working on a standard ignition system with a separate cap & ignition module.
Since our cars are coil on plug there's no real resistance to correct from cables.

It may also have some effect if you have a heavy electrical load from a massive stereo, or group loop problems.

the best thing you can do for your car electrical wise, just replace the ground wire for your battery. that will be more noticeable than installing one of these kits.

I'd love to see someone's explanation for why installing one of these kits helps in those two aspects.

A voltage stabilizer? Is that some sort of large capacitor? Never heard of 'em.

It's kinda like the magnets you put around the fuel line to get the ions lined up in the gas.....makes it slide right down the ports a lot smoother!!!

Old Thread

Here's a magazine article and dyno using the sun grounding kit. Its from a 3rd gen TL so make your own opinion about relevance.

Not sure

Yeah, there was some skepticism in the 3rd gen TL forum, but if the dyno results are authentic then the grounding kit, or the combination of all the mods, must generate that additional horsepower. But like was stated earlier the only way to be sure is to dyno before and after the kit.

Grounding Wires

Hello everyone,

I don’t mean to highjack the thread or be self promoting but I just wanted to share some info with you regarding the grounding kits.

First off I do respect the skepticism. Wild claims of horsepower increases just aren’t true. On any given day a DYNO will vary +/- 5HP depending on conditions!

I started making these kits for the 350Z crowd and was met with the same attitudes. In response I gave away a dozen kits and let the users post their experience. Since then I have sold thousands of these things.

Why? Because people enjoyed the mod and noticed a benefit. Trust me; the forum crowd is a tuff bunch. I would have been called out if the kits were bogus. It is funny too, the stronger the skeptic, the more devout the convert!!!

With the 350Z it was obvious that the idle was smoothed out and the throttle response was quicker… and besides it looked cool. My INJEN CAI was only worth a few HP but it damned looked bad-ass!

Anyway, the grounding kits do facilitates a cleaner signal to the ECU allowing for more precise processing. That is all there is to it.

Above and beyond that, I have been told that is greatly helps with the dreaded whine of the stereo system – even after market ones.

OK, enough of that. Here is what I have collected over the years.

Here is an article from Import Tuner that tested the grounding kits on several cars:

My own readings taken from the 350Z:

I've got that same kit from z-extreme. I did notice a slight smoother engine, I mean very slight. Also, a slight noise reduction in the stereo. However, my audio guy told me that he moved one of the wires to the tranny because the engine was grounded twice and didn't serve a purpose.

$69 is pretty crazy for what you get. Can't be more then about 6ft of 12ga wire and a couple packge of connectors and a couple pieces of heat shrink tubing. Should cost you about $20 at RadioShack.

If its about $20 like you say, then thats not that bad of a markup. There are many other products that are marked up more than 350%.

I am done modding my car, but for $70, it might be worth the attempt if you are a mod freak and out of ideas. What does it really hurt? Its $70 bucks...

Sure it's only $70 but that's $50 you could be putting towards another mod. I'm not saying it's a bad markup but if you can do it yourself for cheap and just as well, why not?

I think that was an excellent post for people that are on the edge...
