Got beat by a CLK55 ///AMG...
Well, to make this short and bitter, I was beat this morning on the freeway by one of these monsters!
He just kept pulling away all the way from 40 MPH (in traffic) to about 100 MPH (once we switched lanes to an open lane) for a short period of time before we hit traffic again.
We then got off the same exit to 290E and had an open freeway for a little bit. I was actually starting to pull on him very little once I dropped it to 3rd from 4th @ about 80MPH. 3rd ran out very quick at about 95MPH (3rd was where I pulled a little), then comes forth and he started to pull away. Shut it down at around 120 MPH and flashed my highbeams at the rear of his car which was getting smaller and smaller by the second.
I'd say good race! That car is something else! Too bad its an automatic

Then the 1/4 mile time in your signature is just a joke, right? Because if you car ran a 12.9 there is no way you would have a problem with an CLK55. Fast but not that fast.

Oh, then his 540 did pretty well because the CLK55 has quite an engine in it--almost 400 ft lbs of torque stock. A bit too pimpy for my tastes though but to each his own.

Dude, you're bone stock don't feel bad...LOL! Good try. I will admit that I got the chance to run with a S55 and guess what, not that impressed. And yes we were going at it from about 60mph. I know those cars are heavy and torque crazy, but maybe the old guy was too scared. Did I mention he was an old guy?
