So there u go russiandude I don't think it has to do with miles!!
The invoice says its 99. What is the full cost of 99 transmission? I suspect its cheaper, but could be $500 or more. When my transmission failed, I was quoted $3500, and they were going the dealer was going to give me 5% off on the spot. So that guy maybe got 30% off. Maybe he had a special relationship with the dealer, we don't know, this could be a rare case. Another thing to note, I think they also count how many times they replaced your transmission, so they probably think they spent enough money on one person. who knows. I don't approve what Acura is doing, but if you look from other perspective, they are probably doing more than Form/GM would do for you.

Some dealerships get along better with their reps than others.

uhm before you open your mouth and say something stupid.....oops too late....you might want to think about this:

$2000 or even $4200 is still cheaper than a new car...... so it is best to fix the car if you want to keep it.

a new car will set you back a large sum of change.........

He did:

Transtar tq converter, new filters, all new gears, cleaned and tested all of the solenoids, replaced the hydraulic trans mount, and a new low hold gear. PLUS (he showed me all the parts and how the gears were BURNT literally.) And you couldn't even tell he touched the car. It's amazing.
all for 1980

Best tho he's a really good dude and cherishes his work so, his customers are in good hands.

I was lucky tho he told me. I should of had to wait even longer but one of the nsx's he's working on the guy didn't need the car fixed till 2 weeks later. And he's booked for months now he said on a list of ppl who need their cars fixed. So you will likely have to wait a bit to geter done.

So aside from the waiting, I cannot complain atall

dealer refuses to do anything about it

1. when it is cold out < 25F there is a very noticable delay in the 1-2 shift even if the car has been warmed up

2. intermittent jerking when rolling to a stop and accellerating before coming to a complete stop under light loads

3. pops in and out of 5th intermittently

I bought my 2001 CL-Type S and the first Trans went bad at about 70K. Acura paid all of that. Next it went bad again at about 180K. (About 6 months ago). It first they gave me nothing. I had to call the 800 number and argue with the local service. The only thing that helped is when I said I wanted to schedule a meeting with the regonial service manager. Then the spoke with him offline and offered me over 50% (paid about $1700). I didn't even have to meet with him. I love the car and didn't want to get rid of it. It is just crazy how bad that transmission is. I told the local manger "this is supposed to be an Acura! that competes with Lexus and BMW, I could have bought a Ford escort if I wanted a car that the transmission would go bad twice after 160K miles!

" I tHINK" that the tranny is going to learn your driving. Like if you like to drive hard its gonna hold gears longer and if you like to drive to get better gas milage it shifts earlier , Thats what i heard / read ..
But for the first 500 miles take it easy..I think!

yeah, take it easy, just don't drive slow to get into accident. Put a sticker in the back "This vehicle drives slow because I just got new transmission"
