Good Headers?

I obviously know that the Comptech Headers are the best. But I don't feel like spending over a grand for them. So I was wondering what would be the best company to go with?? Or even if generic ones may be ok. I've heard OBX sucks but they are the only brand name I can find except for Comptech. Also is there a fitment issue with the CL-S 6 speed with headers? Someone mentioned XS but I can't find them anywhere.

I'm looking for headers too man. Go to ebay they have them listed for $100-300. It seems that alot of people on here have gotten the cheaper ones and are completely satisfied. The ones on ebay I believe are the xs headers. Why pay more? Good luck.

This has been discussed a MILLION times...no joke...I counted

Get headers from SSautochrome.com. They are XS-Power Headers. I have them on my CL-S(have for about 3 weeks). There wasn't any fitment issues at all.

You will have to:
-Replace the bolts/nuts/washers with grade 8 steel from lowes or another hardware store. Get twelve 10mm washers, six 10mm nuts, and six 10x40mm bolts all grade 8, which is about $10.

-Either use the stock gaskets from your car or buy new exhaust manifold gaskets for around $40. I bought new gaskets to make sure I didn't have any leaks, but my stock one's were fine.

-You will probly need to wrap the flex pipe with exhaust wrap b/c they are known to leak causing resonance....sort of a buzzing noise. I had resonance and wrapped mine and it's all gone now!

-You can install them yourself or have a performance shop install them. I got mine installed for $175.

BTW, I kept my stock gaskets that still look like new if someone wants to buy them. I also have quite a bit of exhaust wrap left that I could sell too.

You will definately be happy with the ssautochrome headers. The performance difference is night and day. They also give you a better exhaust tone

Yeah I know it has been discussed. I wasn't sure becasue ssautochrome doesn't list them as XS. And Grade 8 is probably a little extreme for bolts 5 would be fine unless you're planning on offroading in your CL and worried about your downpipe getting banged around.

No, definately get the upgraded bolts. The bolts that come with the headers are only 8mm and grade 5. They are so weak that they break if your torque them too much. Much better to just spend the $10 on 10mm grade 8 bolts

Also DO NOT use the gaskets that come with the headers. They are recycled cardboard with a metal coating on the surface. You can literally peel them apart
