Good deal? SSRs & Toyos or S03s

I located a set of SSR Competitions, 17x8, Anthracite w polished lip with my choice of tires (deciding between Toyo T-1Ss and Bridgestone PP S03s) mounted and balanced for $1750 shipped to my door. They're brand new. As the title asks, good deal?

That's a good deal for sure. I paid $2000 for mine from the tire rack with Kumho MXs that were only $127 ea. Toyos and SO3s are much more expensive. 235/45 is the perfect size. Those will look sweet on black too!

It may depend on various conditions local to the driver.

Ironic that CS reports rated the Goodyear F1-GS and Toyo T1S at the top (1 and 2), and the S0-3 down the list. (Who knows what type of track temps, road materials were being used -- hey?)

Here is the list with highest scoring at the top:

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3
Toyo Proxes T1-S
Continental ContiSportContact 2
Michelin Pilot Sport
Dunlop SP Sport 9000
Pirelli PZero Nero
Bridgestone Potenza S-03
Hankook Ventus Sport K104
Yokohama AVS ES100
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW
Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP
Kumho ECSTA Supra
Sumitomo HTRZ II

Regional differences in road surface composition, temperature, and weather combined with other factors can have a large impact on what tire is best – or “seems” to be best.

IOW, it is not clear cut and I've recommended the S-03 -- at times -- over the Toyo T1-S for various reasons.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards the S03s....my buddy owns one of the only tire shops around here that carries Toyo's, so he can hook me up w/ T1-Ss once the S03s are shot.

did you find that deal on ebay?? I saw a deal like that with the SSR on ebay...but he had one negative feedback and it seemed to good to be true, especially with "any tires I want"!!

It seems a little "iffy" to me!

Just my $.02
