i am gonna hit 3000 miles real soon. I asked a service advisor if i should bring the car in for a oil change, and he recommended that i skip the first one, and bring it in at 7000 miles, reason being that Acura supposedly uses some type of special oil in new cars to clean out any metal chips....... Can anyone confirm this?

Also, the custom trunk is DONE! I will be posting pics very very soon =)

Wow, how did you find a brand new CL-S with no miles? I thought I am the only one with 3000 miles on my car! Oh, that in on my new engine. I would change the oil, every tech in honda will ask you to change it if you bought your car.

Check the oil dipstick. If it needs a change, then change it. If it's still clean, then leave it. No need to change it strictly by the mileage.

I used the same oil change regimen on my 2001 and 2003 cls vehicles. First oil change at 5,000 miles, then I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic and the Mobil M-104 oil filter. The only other thing I would recommend is to do it yourself!
