Those are amazing #'s, from stock! Very impressive! What was BeatYaAlls time 0-60?
BeatYaAll, I'm looking at that list of mods you have to your car, and I have no idea what some of that stuff is!! If you have a few minutes, would you explain what all those letters mean, where you got them, and what they cost? Did you install them yourself? What's the haps?!

Did Beatyaall's car have 2 passengers or 1 or none?

In other words, was everything kept equal (in regards to passengers)?

13.8 1/4 mile is nice!

BeatYaAll,

Do you think that the V-AFC has better performance results than the headers? I found a place that would install the V-AFC for $75, is that a good price? Do you think the V-AFC is worth the $400? Thanks...

PimpGold,
the V-AFC is a vtec controller and it plays with the engine pressure to... the CAI is the Cold Air Intake.

My 0-60 was 5.41 sec.

Mike, it wasnt a big deal .. it just got loss .. it wasnt mounted right.

CLS16,
yeah its worth it and that is a good price .. i got mine 450 installed.

TypeSKid,
what is Radford???

OK now i know everyone in every sport/luxry forum is using gtech's to guage their cars 0-60 and 1/4's, but how accurate is it??? Ive seen people report gtech rns of 0-60 at 6.0 - 6.6 completely stock but wayyy different story when they hit the track and see the actual times. Someone a while back actually sed his gtech while he was at the track and the #'s were sometimes off by half a second on 0-60 and 3/4's a second on their 1/4... I dont want to start a flame war but are we bllshitting orselves beleiving this gizmo? accelerometers are great for round about guessing but i find it hard to believe that its truely accurate to .1 second..... Any feedback ????

Some of rdsandy's time with the gtech were off and some were very close.
I hope to be going to the track (Carlsbad) on 2/3/01.

Anyone interested? One friend will either bring his vette or his viper. I'm trying to talk Immy into getting a rollbar so he can race his s2000. Ronnie, Spidy? Are you guys interested?

Actually accelerometers are typically precise and have a fast response, 10kHz isn't unusual. It is the electronic interpretation that will typically generate the error.

Just trying to defend those little peizo sensors...

In my case, my GTech has always been within the spec'd range when run against the timers at the track, ET only. But this was only when applied accordingly. If mounted incorrectly or if I didn't zero it out correctly the error would be greater.

Secondly, use on the street is very subjective. Most people are not good at determining grades nor will they ever take a transit out and shoot the area they make the runs in. Unfortunately what appears to be level normally has a slight downhill slope. What appears to have a slight uphill slope may be level.

i just want to tell u something ... just dont forget the Reaction time on the drag track... if u got a bad reaction time u will get a bad result.. but the Gtech will start counting from when u press the pedel.. i hope that made it clear for u.

Not true. RT has nothing to do with your ET. The timer doesn't start until you trip the first beam and ends when you cross the last beam.

Let's say you have a 10 second car. You could get a green light, sit there for 20 seconds and then launch. Your ET will be 10 seconds (if running normal), not 30 seconds.

The process we can most measure the most accurately is Time.

Scalbert,

LOL thank you for posting that I thought i was nutz but thats how i remembered the timing system to work too LOL the bad result you get with a slow reaction time is when your pitted against a car with similar times and your slow to get out of the hole LOL
