Going in for my 30K mile Service

This must be one the most dreadful services cause this is when I get my transmission flush...I'm dropping the car off around 430pm tomorrow than getting a loaner. Since my car has to be there for awhile cause there is some rattling coming from my sunroof and she has to drive it around and see whats wrong with it. So hopefully I'll have my car back by Thursday or Friday. I'll let you guy know how it goes. I'm getting my Alpha Werks Headers sometime next week or the week after. I'm scared to put them on cause people say their tranny has failed after the tranny flush like a couple thousand miles after. Will putting these on prevent them from repairing or replacing my tranny on warranty if something does happen? Well I know they actually sale and install comptech parts there are the dealership, But would they act differently as it being a Alpha Werks part, which is practically a replica of the Comptech and only different thing is the badging on it.

no the headers wont do anything negative to your tranny, people have gotten new trannies with every mod including the S/C. I dont think anyone has had tranny problems after a flush...you must be thinking of when they get the "oil jet" recal done. I had my tranny flushed at the dealership about 6000 miles ago.

When Acura gave me a loaner to check on the recalls they gave me an 04 Accord which was a pleasure to drive.

why are you getting the tranny flushed? I'm almost positive it says to do it at 60k miles on the maintence schedule.

No, The tranny flush is every 30K miles...and the Sparkplugs also...

They are doing the whole thing for $415 that includes a free loaner...

They just called me today and they have to replace the rear brake pads cause they are gone...its wierd I'd figure the fronts would go out first...but she said the front were alright... but hopefully it will be done today late...if not tomorrow around 430 I'll pick it up if I can get out of work...

EDIT: Just got a call from Baranco Acura! Going to pick up my car in about 30 minutes...woohoo!!!

Being that I got my used Im not exactly sure of its maintenance history. I had it at Frankel Acura about 2 weeks ago and I asked him if he could tell me if the 30k had been done. He told me that he didnt have a record of it being at Frankel which means it could have been somewhere else.

Is there a way for me to find out if this service has been done?

Is the "oil Jet" recall bad?? My car is going in next Friday to get the 30K service done + the recall.

I would check up on that filter for sure. I doubt they put another K&N in it. Just check it, I would think you'd be able to tell.

They changed the spark plugs? They are good for 105k miles. Why on earth would they change them at 30k?

why the hell would rear brake pads go before front pads? Usually you go through one set of rear pads for every TWO sets of fronts!

and spark plugs!? is that what they told you? because right in the manual it says the first scheduled spark plug change is 105,000 miles.

and changed your air filter with an icebox!?

not to mention thats the highest quote for a 30k service I've ever heard.

holy shit, this thread is getting better and better...sorry man, but I agree with mclarenf. You should have looked around on here before you paid $400 for - honestly in my opinion...NOTHING. By the way, Acura's dont need a "30K service"...thats stupid. Its in the manual so you go to the dealer and they take your $$$ and really dont do anything to your car. I mean dont you think a flag should have gone up when they said they replaced your air filter??!!!, unless they meant your cabin filter, but still $400 is insane

I didnt think of that. cabin filter is different. I think that is done at the 30k isnt it? but regardless they shouldn't use the term cabin filter\air filter interchangeably .. so I'll still assume they meant air filter in which case your still getting hosed

The cabin air filter can be done in your driveway for simply the cost of the filter (30 bucks I believe??). Most dealers rape you on that. Thats the only thing that needs to be done at 30k miles besides a visual inspection of the underside of the car.

exactly...I mean if you cant do anything, I could see letting them do that, but that "service" shouldnt cost more than like $40 or $50, and that is way too much

I dont know they said it was low so they were changed and the brakes work alot better...They didnt change the air filter, instead they just cleaned the K&N air filter...and re oiled it...they didnt charge me on the filter I looked in the reciept...

Yeah...there really arent any acura places close to me closest ones are Baranco and Nally...Baranco is 30 mins away and Nally is like 45...So i just went to the closest one..and they just cleaned the filter and put it back in and ya replacing the cabin filter and all that they did...
