SO my alternator bearing (69,000 miles) went out on Monday and I took it to the dealer. I have an extended warranty and my deductible is 50 bucks, but they charged me 150 becasue of the "diagnostic" charge of 100 bucks. Even though I fuckin' told them it was the alternator bearing. Then I told them that I thought the 100 dollars was absorbed into the total costs of the repairs and was only charged if I decided not to get the work done there. Casue that's how it's always been done in the past. So my extended warranty should cover the entire thing - that's why I have a deductible - and they said no - if you read the small print in the service contract, the agreement does not cover diagnostics.

To piss me off even more, I have an Eclipse head unit with a cd keyed in. And when I got into my car, my head unit was locked up, which means some tech was trying to play a cd and kept pushing the cd in 5 times even though the head unit kept rejecting it and spitting it out. Luckily I didn't have to send my Eclipse unit back to the factory to get it reset and Fujitsu Ten helped me with a rolling code over the phone to unlock it. But those Acura techs had no business messin' with the head unit like that without knowing what they were doing. They were probably taking my car out for a spin (see below)


And finally the odometer changed by 45 miles (they had the car for two nights)...what the fuck? I'm waiting for that Honda survey......

 

thats some story, usually acura prides its self on their service. but we all know what kinda assholes they can really be
