I went to Six Flags in Jackson, NJ today and after eating dinner in Red Bank proceeded back up to New Brunswick with 2 friends in the car.

Ever since i get these new rims, everyone's been trying to race me, especially at lights. get my glances by the ladies too...

Anyway...
Race 1) 95ish Mazda was chasing a 97ish white bubble-back Civic @ about 90 on GSParkway. Both RICED out. I'm doing 75. Civic passes me, so I cut in front of the Mazda as i flicked down to 3rd. up to 100... shift to 4th... up to 120 on Civics tail as he's stomping on the gas, he lets back and moves out of my way... Mazda gave up. Civic backed down... PEACE.. i'm out.

Race 2) 97ish teal Mustang GT hardtop on Rt 1 south in Edison. As I pull off the ramp coming from 287 I'm hard on the gas and maintain 70 sliding all the way to left lane. He's tailgating me. Passes me on right only to both come to a red light. Both rolling @ 15mph light turns green. 2nd gear... shift to 3rd @ 60... shift to 4th @ 85. Only reason i shift to 4th @ 85 is cuz i didnt see him so decided to let down a bit, but then he appears out of my blind spot on the right. He's at my door now and passes car in middle lane on right and passes me as well. I tap down to 3rd and catch-up again @ 100... into 4th.... two COPS ahead with overhead lights on pulled over side-by-side... we both back down.... good run... mind u.. he was alone in his car and i had a total of 3 people in the car. me- 160lbs, friend1- 240lbs, friend2- 170lbs.

Race3) '01 or '02 Subaru (non-wagon) on Rt 18 north in New Brunswick. Him, far left lane. Me, far right lane merging onto Rt 18. He's pulling fast and gaining speed. I mash the pedal at the top of 2nd... into 3rd... into 4th @100.... Subaru is way back behind me. I figured he pussed out back @ 80mph.

holla... aint no stoppin me! I never race anymore, only when tempted. Temptation has been around lately Need me headers now...

the 97 gt's still had 305 hp

Don't mean to do this to you, but the 97 GT only made around 215 hp, the Cobra made 305, which wasn't that great anyway since back in 97 my bro had a stock 97 Z28 and took out a 97 Cobra

 

Sounds like I need some new wheels too. No one ever wants to race me.

And those first 4.6 GTs were pretty weak. My friend had a 98, it only had 225 hp, and felt like it too.

 

none of those sounded like races... just people driving way too fast...

I consider it a race if
1) go from a light
2) go from a few honks
3) tracking on a road course/ autox
...
otherwise you're just driving around really fast and not really "racing" anywhere...

sorry not really a good kill on the GT... we eat those things for lunch stock. Those old 4.6L were a joke.

if you're gonna race someone on the freeway you should at least get head to head and go on the 3rd honk. what's this about stomping it as some guy is pulling up for a run? blah...
