Gas Smell Inside The Car
Wondering if anyone has had any problems with this and what they did?. For the past 2/3 days i am getting a very strong gas smell inside my car. If i warm the car up in the morning then go out a little while later, its almost too much to bear. Also when i stop at redlights. When the car is travelling it does not seem to happen as much. Please anyone, who can help me with this, i appreciate it.........

This one will have to be taken into the dealer to be checked. You could pay a muffler shop for a start to see if you have a leak in your exhaust...
Is the warranty still in effect?

You got a fuel leak man. If it smells so strong you can't bear it take it in quick and get it checked. I had this problem on my 924, but that was because the fuel lines were run inside the car under the door moldings. I assume the CLs lines are ran along the underside of the car. But deffinetly get this one checked out, you don't want fuel finding its way to your exhaust.

No, just the warranty i got from the used car dealer i bought it from. But it only covers engine/drivetrain. I noticed that you cannot smell the gas if the heat is at a lower temperature. This doesnt make sense to me. I dont believe that i have an exhaust leake, cause it sounds fine and my bask pressure is fine....

But would'nt this affect my mileage and fuel consumption? And wouldnt i smell it ALL the time, as opposed to when the heat is cranked all the way up?

how about you...
park it inside a garage for the night and roll all the windows down and open all the doors including trunk?
Gasoline evaporates very very quickly so any gasoline should evaporate overnight if its in there.
Throw one of these new car smell air fresheners also for the night.

You said all you have is what the used car dealer gave you ?
How many miles does your car have. If it is still less than 4 yr/50k miles, just take it too a dealer. You need to get this shit checked out mang. We dont want to read post stating "Fellow ACL member and car, blow up":shakehd:

yes, still driving it around... it does not smell as much as it did before. I dont understand it. now i only smell it once in awhile and not inside the car unless i use the vent from outside. The car has 138,000. its got high miles but the car is in great shape... minus the gas smell that just appeared. does this sound like something expensive?
