I remember back when the IS300 was coming out that a lot of us were bummed b/c we thought the IS300 was going to have huge aftermarket support b/c it is the Supra motor. Funny thing is we seem to have a much larger aftermarket thanks to our TL brothers than the IS300.

They have no ablitily for headers (Cat.Conv. is part of manifold, they don't even have a CAI in the works (and I don't think a true CAI would fit in that cramped engine bay anyways. They do have some sort of intake that comes with a chip upgrade that costs about a grand, causes the engine light to come on and doesn't give crap for performance.

They have some truly hybrid turbos out there, but the tranny can't take them for the most part and they're not going to be custom made like our supercharger will be.

Appears to be nothing like our V-AFC for the IS300.

And, from reading the board it doesn't seem like there is a whole lot out there, especially not stuff that is made specifically for the car.

So, don't feel so bad. We have most of the important stuff. I know some will want body kits and the supercharger, but we have a lot of options out there that can make our cars really shine even better than when new. Once I see the review of someone with the CAI when it is finally released I'll decide if that's going to be for me. JZ

They sure have a lot of bodykits though. heh.

But yea... I havent seen much buzz bout the IS performance wise. It damn sure needs the mods though.

Well being that it shares the Supra engine would make me think that too.... however once I bought my last car 95 GS300, I came to find out that it also shared the non-turbo supra engine.... And well for 5 years i searched for something to make it faster ... Nill under 3K that offered any real improvements I was pretty content with highway performance .. but of the line the car was geared too high, too heavy , too S L O W ! Now that the is300 shares the same "powerplant" im curious to see how much aftermarket accessories will be made... HeeeHeeeHeee I still have the Lexus sitting in the garage...
