Fuel Filter

Has anyone replaced theirs yet? Are there documented steps out there with parts numbers and prices? I searched but found nothing.

Thanks

it does have a filter the helms manual gives details on its removal...and requires the removal of the rear sway...rear exhuast then the fuel tank itself

The Cl does have a fuel filter. Acura OEM calls it a element filter, the part number is 80291-S84-A01. To replace it yourself will take about ten to fifteen minutes

First, open the trunk and remove the trunk mat.
Next, remove the three phillip screws from the round metal plate forward of the spare tire.
Then, unplug all of the plugs attached.
Then, remove the eight or so bolts (10 mm???)
Once you have the bolts removed, the entire fuel pump assembly will lift out of the car. On the bottom of the fuel pump assembly there is a small yellow mesh looking thing, that is your fuel filter. it slides right off of the fuel pump, the new one will slide right back on. Follow the steps in reverse order to reassemble.

The part number that MeaghanA posted is for the stock cabin filter element

You can see the part number for yourself on Kavextrax's cabin filter install pics...

http://public.fotki.com/kavextrax/aircon_micron_filte/ and click on the 1st photo.

Yeah.. the part number is for a CABIN filter... good catch Greenie

and MeaghanA is talking about the SUCTION filter......... there is no other filter except the Suction filter that is on the bottom of the Fuel pump... and it does not require any maintance.

ok guys there is a fuel filter, its part of the fuel pump assembly, its not the pump filter, its actually part of the whole casing that you plug the fuel lines into it, you have to take it all apart to change the filter you have to swap the fuel pump, the hoses and the electrical connectos to the new filter, it needs to be chagned when the fuel pressure reads below 41-48 psi with the vaccum hose disconnected and pinched from the fuel presure regulator. in this picture its number 1, its called the filter set, fuel product number 9318 price 44.22 from acura carland.

if anyone wants a better picture i have the original honda repair manual that has a really good picture.

I have delt with the fuel pumps on our 2nd Gen CL's 4 times.... .. The fuel is drawn THROUGH the SUCTION filter at the bottom of the pump.

A: is the housing for the Fuel PUMP... if there is a built in filter, i am not aware of it.... because I sure as shit could not see it.

The car will not pull fuel from anywhere OTHER than the suction filter through pump and into the housing, to the fuel lines.. to the fuel regualtor and to the Injectors... that is how it travels...

yeah those were the pics i have, i think section A is a filter and i'm guessing its got a small inline screen filter, thats why that part is only $46, it might be impossible to see, why don't you take one apart, or better yet when i do one on mine i will take it apart and see if there is one in there.

I replaced 4 fuel pumps.. I had it apart.. there is no filter that is VISIBLE... so I

I sure as shit would not pay 46.00 for a filter that is not even visible... you would have to crack that unit apart to find it..
